15、ensing temperature regulators. 2. TERMINOLOGY AND DEFINITIONS 2.1 Filled Thermal Systems for Remote Sensing Temperature Regulators: A filled thermal system for remote sensing temperature regulators is a closed system containing a fluid fill (the temperature sensing medium) and comprising a bulb, an
16、expansion device (bellows, diaphragm, capsule, etc.) and a capillary tube operatively connecting the two (See Fig. 1). The following classes of thermal systems are in general use. 2.1.1 Liquid Filled Thermal Systems: A liquid filled thermal system (Class I) is a thermal system completely filled with
17、 a liquid and operating on the principle of liquid expansion. 2.1.2 Vapor Pressure Thermal System: A vapor pressure thermal system (Class II) is a thermal system partially filled with a volatile liquid and operating on the principle of vapor pressure. Three types are employed. a. Designed to operate
18、 with the measured temperature ABOVE the temperature of the rest of the thermal system (Class II A) (See Fig. 2). b. Designed to operate with the measured temperature BELOW the temperature of the rest of the thermal system (Class II B) (See Fig. 3). c. Designed to operate with the measured temperatu
