9、ng succession,the median value is the middlevalueif the number of available values is odd, andis themean of thetwo middle values if the number is even5Electricald.c.resistanceofconductorThe test shallbecarried outinaccordancewithAnnex AofEN 60228.6 Voltage testoncompletedcableIf the cable has no met
10、allic layer, asample of the cableasmanufactured shall be immersed in water.Thelength of the sample, the temperatureof thewater and theperiodofimmersion shallbeasspecified in thecablestandard. Avoltage shallbeapplied betweenconductor(s)and groups ofconductorsinsuchaway that the insulationoneachcoreis
11、 testedagainst alladjacent cores and thewater.BS EN 50395:2005+A1:2011 EN 50395:2005+A1:2011 (E) 7 If the cablehas ametallic layer, asample of the cableshallbe taken of the length specified in thecable standard. Avoltage shall be applied betweenconductor(s)and groups of conductorsinsuchaway that the
12、insulationoneachcoreis tested against all adjacent coresand the metallic layer, whichshall be earthed.If the cable has ametallic strain-bearingmember, this shallbeconnected to the water or to themetallic layer, as appropriate.In eachcase, thevoltage and the durationofits applicationshallbeasspecifie
13、d in the cablestandard.Thevoltage shallbeincreased graduallyoneachoccasion to the specifiedvalue.No breakdown of the insulation shalloccurduring the test.7 Voltage testoncores inwaterThe test applies to sheathed cables,braided cables and flat unsheathed cords.NOTE For 1-core unsheathed cables, the t
14、est in Clause 6 generally applies, in whichcase this test oncoresisnot required.7.1TestsamplePrepare asample of cable5mlong, by carefully removing, without damaging the cores, the sheath orthe overallbraid andanyother covering or fillingfromalengthofcompleted cable.In the case of flat unsheathed cor
15、d,makeacut in theinsulation between thecores,and separate thecoresbyhandfor alengthof 2m.7.2 ProcedureImmerse the sample in water at the temperature, andfor the period, specified in the cablestandard.Ensure that the ends of the coresprotrude above the water by adistancesufficient to preventexcessive
16、 surfaceleakagewhen the test voltage is applied.Apply avoltage,of the magnitudespecified in thecable standard, between theconductors and thewater for the time specified in thecable standard.7.3 RequirementNo breakdown of the insulation shalloccurduring the test.8Insulationresistance test8.1Insulatio
17、n resistance for cables havingmaximum conductor temperatures not exceeding90C8.1.1 TestsampleMake the test onasample of cable 5mlong, previously submitted to the test specified in Clause 7or,in thecaseof1-core unsheathedcable, to the testdescribed in Clause 6.BS EN 50395:2005+A1:2011 EN 50395:2005+A
18、1:2011 (E)88.1.2 ProcedureImmerse the sample in water previously heated to the temperaturespecified in the cablestandard,with alength of about 250mmat eachend of the sample projecting above the water,for the periodoftimespecified in the cablestandard.Apply ad.c.voltage of between 80 Vand 500Vbetween
19、eachconductor and thewater.Measure the insulationresistanceofeachcore1minafter application of the voltage. Use this value tocalculate the insulationresistanceofa1kmlengthofeachcore.8.1.3 Requirement None of the resulting valuesshall be below theminimum insulationresistancevaluespecified in thecable
20、standard.8.2Insulationresistanceforcableswithmaximumconductor temperatures exceeding90CNOTE Further basic informationon this testmethod maybeobtained from HD 429,Clause 6“Test piecesfor thevolumeresistivity measurement”.8.2.1 TestsampleMake the teston thesamesample of cable used for the voltage test
21、inClause 7or, in thecaseof1-core unsheathed cable, to the test described in Clause 6.8.2.2 ProcedureCut a test piece1,40mlong from the cable or core to be tested. Cover this test piecewithasemi-conducting layer, andoverthis layerapply ametal braidorametal tapeinsuchawayas to obtain anactivemeasuring
22、 length of 1,0 m.At bothends of the activemeasuring length, leavingagap 1mmwide, applyaprotective wirebindingof approximately5mm length (see Figure1).Wind the test piece to form aringwithadiameterofapproximately15 D but at least 0,20 m( D =nominal outerdiameterofinsulation).Maintain the testpieceina
23、nair oven forat least 2 hat the test temperaturespecified in the relevantcable standard, leavingaclearancebetween thesample and thewalls of the air oven of at least 50 mm.After the conditioning period ad.c.voltage between80Vand 500Vshallbeappliedbetween theconductor and thescreen (semi-conductinglay
24、er and metal braid/metal tape including theprotectivewirebinding), thesample stillbeing kept in the air oven.Theinsulationresistanceshallbemeasured 1min after applicationof the voltageand thisvalueshallbe used tocalculate the insulationresistanceofa1kmlength of cable.8.2.3 Requirement None of the re
