Variationsinthetapebackingandadhesiveaffecttheresults

Thesetestmethodsmaynotprovidedesigninformationasthereisusuallynodirectrelationshipbetweenshear adhesionandanyfunctionalrequirement. 5 MethodA:Measurementofshearadhesiontoaverticalstandardsteelpanel 5.1Principle MethodA

ShearadhesiontostandardsteelpanelAstripoftapeisappliedtoastandardsteelpanelundercontrolledroll down.Thepanelismountedvertically,astandardmassisattachedt

32、othefreeendofthetapeandthetimeto failureisdetermined. 5.2Materials 5.2.1 Absorbentcleaningmaterial:surgicalgauze,cottonwoolortissue.Tobesuitable,materialsshallbelint freeduringuse,absorbent,containnoadditivesthataresolubleinthesolventslistedin5.2.2andmadeexclusively fromvirginmaterials. 5.2.2 Oneorm

33、oreofthefollowingsolvents: diacetonealcohol(4Hydroxy4methyl2pentanone )nonresidualgrade; methanol; methyl ethyl ketone; acetone; nheptane. amixtureofnheptaneandafluorinatedhydrocarbonsuchasrefrigerant(suitablewhentoxicityorflammability restrictionsapply). Solventsshallbeofgeneralpurposechemicalgrade

34、andheldinasuitabledispensingsystem. 5.3Apparatus 5.3.1 Testpiececutter Atestpiececuttershallholdtwosingleedgerazorbladesinparallelplanesaprecisedistanceapart,toforma cutterofexactspecimenwidth;twocutters,12mmand24mmcuttingwidth,shallbeavailableorappropriate alternativeswhichwillnotcauseedgedamage.Th

35、eprecisionoftherazorbladeseparationshallbethenominal width 0,1mm.EN1943:2002(E) 7 5.3.2 Stainlesssteelpanels Theseshallbeperfectlyflat,atleast125mmlongand50mmwideandatleast1,1mmthick,stainlesssteeltype 1.4301inaccordancewiththe2RqualitydefinedinEN100882:1995,havingabrightannealedfinishwitha surfacer

36、oughnessof50nm 25nm.Panelsshowingstains,discolorationormanyscratchesarenotacceptable. Newpanelsshallbecleanedpriortouseasdescribedin5.5.2.1exceptwithtenwashesofthefinalsolvent. Betweenusesthepaneltestsurfaceshallbeprotectedfromscratchesandcontaminationandthepanelsshallbe storedintheconditionsdescrib
