Introduction Hingessuitableforsidehanginguseareusuallystrongenoughfortophangingapplicationswithhingedelements ofthesamemass.Howevertheloadbearingandwearingsurfacesaretotallydifferentforthetwotypesof application.Itisintendedtodeveloptestmethodsf

24、roductsDirective(89/106/EEC),theessentialrequirementsofthisEuropean Standardaretoallowselfclosingwhenusedonfire/smokecompartmentationdoorsfittedwithdoorclosing devices.EN1935:2002(E) 4 1Scope ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesrequirementsforsingleaxishinges,ofliftofforfixedpintype,foruseonaccess windowsa

25、nddoors.Suchwindowsanddoorsmayormaynotbefittedalsowithdoorclosingdevices.Itincludes testsforstaticloads,shearstrengthandallowablewearduringdurabilitycyclingforthefollowinghinges: a) mountedontheedgeofthedoorleaforwindowsashandopeninginonedirectiononly; b) whoseaxisofrotationiswithin30mmofanedgeofthe

26、movableelementforadoorleafmassofupto160kg; c) whoseaxisofrotationiswithin30mmoftheedgeforawindowsashwithamassupto60kg. ThisEuropeanStandardclassifieshingesforfourcategoriesofuse(seeannexA)andalsospecifiesthemaximum permissibletorquearisingfromfrictionalresistancegeneratedwithinthehingeduringenduranc

27、etesting. Corrosionprotectionrequirementsarespecifiedforthosehingeswhicharenotintendedtobeprotectedafterfitting. Therearenorestrictionsonthematerialsorthemethodsoffabricationusedprovidingthehingeconformstothe requirementsrelevanttoitsapplication. Thesuitabilityofsingleaxishingesforuseonfire/smokecom

28、partmentationdoorassembliesisdeterminedby performancetestsconductedinadditiontotheperformancetestsrequiredbythisEuropeanStandard.AnnexB indicatesadditionalrequirementsfortheseproducts. ThisEuropeanStandarddoesnotapplytohingesincorporatingspringassisteddoorclosingmechanisms.Door closersincorporatingd

29、oorcoordinatordevices(withorwithoutelectricallypoweredholdopendevices)are coveredbyEN1158. Althoughthefasteningsusedtofixhingestowindowassembliesanddoorassembliesarenotcoveredbythis EuropeanStandard,ifthetypeoffasteningtobeusedissuppliedorspecifiedbythemanufacturer,such fasteningsareusedforthetests.
