22、roduction This European Standard is a C type standard as stated in EN ISO 12100-1. The machinery concerned and the extent to which hazards, hazardous situations and events are covered are indicated in the scope of this European Standard. For machines that have been designed and built according to th

23、e provisions of this C standard, the following stipulation applies: When provisions of this type C standard are different from those which are stated in type A or B standards or from provisions made in !EN 1034-1:2000+A1:2010“, the provisions of this type C standard take precedence over the provisio

24、ns of the other standards. 1 Scope This European Standard applies to wood grinders intended for the production of pulp used in paper making including sharpening devices and shall be used together with !EN 1034-1:2000+A1:2010“. It deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and hazard ev

25、ents relevant to wood grinders when used as intended and under the conditions foreseen by the manufacturer (see clause 4). This standard does not apply to loading facilities. Hazards caused by overpressure are not covered by this standard. Note: For hazards caused by overpressure, see the directive

41、ch require action to eliminate or reduce the risk. When carrying out the risk assessment the machine designer will have to check whether the list of hazards in Table 1 is complete and applicable with respect to the particular machine. In addition, the machine shall be designed according to the principles of EN ISO 12100 for hazards relevant but not significant w

47、hich are not dealt with by this European Standard. 5.2 Feeding devices 5.2.1 Wood grinders shall be designed so that they can be provided and operated with a system for feeding the wood to the chute, for example by using a continuous conveyor, in order to avoid manual feeding. 48、2009EN 1034-22:2005+A1:2009 (E)9 5.2.2 Where continuous conveyors are used for feeding the wood grinder, provisions shall be made to prevent log jams or overloading of the chutes, for example photoelectric beams or weighing machines detecting overloads and thus allowing the amount of material fed to

49、 be limited. 5.3 Power transmission elements The power transmission elements for driving the grinding stone, gate valves, sharpening device and material feeding device(s) shall be safeguarded in accordance with 5.2 of EN 1043-1:2000. 5.4 Gate valves 5.4.1 Crushing points on gate valves of hydraulic press grinders shall be avoided as specified in 5.3 of !EN 1034-1:20
