8、ing systems. In recent years, other magnetic media, originally developed for audio and video applications have been considered for use in data processing applications for storage as well as for information interchange. The recording method known as helical scan recording. together with new types of
9、magnetic opes. allows to achieve capacities of more than I gigabyte of user data. Standard ECMA-139 was the first of a series of ECMA Standards for such magnetic tape cartridges. Upon request of Committee ISO/IEC JTCI/SCll it has been adopted as an International Standard under the fast-track procedu
10、re as ISO/IEC 10777. This Standard ECMA-171 is a further standard for the same medium, however specifying two different lengths of tape. Also upon request of ISO/IEC JTCI/SCI I, Standards ECMA-145, ECMA-146, ECMA- 150 and ECMA- 152 have heen contriliuted to ISO/IEC JTCI and adopted under the fast-tr
