8、loped for audio and video applications have been considered for use in daCi pi-ocessing applications for storage as well as for information interchange. The recording method known ;is Iielical sc;tn recording. together with new types of magnetic tapes. allows to achieve capacities of more than I gig
9、ahyte of user data. Standard ECMA-I34 was the first of ;I series of ECMA Standards for such magnetic tape cartridges. Upon request of Committee ISOllEC JTCI/SCI 1 it has heen adopted as an International Standard under the fast-track procedure as ISOllEC 10777. This Standard ECMA-I70 is a further sta
10、ndard for the same reciirded format. but which supports two types of cartridges. For Type A. the magnetic tape has a nominal thickness of 13 prn. For Type R. the magnetic tripe has a nominal thickness of 9 pm. Also upon request of ISO/IEC JTCI/SCI I. St;iiidards ECMA-145. ECMA-116. ECMA- 150 ;ind EC
