This commercial item description covers a gastro-intestinal surgical staple

2、r. Salient characteristics: Style and design. Shall be a gastro-intestinal surgical stapler. The stapler shall consist of a cartridge half and an anvil half. Style and design of the cartridge half shall be in accordance with Figure 1. The cartridge half shall consist of a handle and channeled cartri

3、dge fork, Both components shall be attached by means of a distal pivot (see Figure 1). The handle shall have a proximal snap-anchor and transverse bar. The snap-anchor shall be designed to hold the cartridge fork in place until manually detached. The cartridge fork shall contain four alignment slots

4、; two on each side, identically spaced on both sides of the fork. This arrangement shall permit the fork to accept a compatible staple unit . Style and design of the anvil half shall be in accordance with Figure 2. The anvil half shall consist of an anvil fork and lock lever. The proximal end of the

5、 lock lever shall be joined to the mid-point of the anvil by means of the lock-lever pivot. The anvil fork shall have a distal engagement hook and a proximal anvil. The anvil shall contain 52 staple-clinching pockets arranged in two double-staggered rows. The pocket pattern shall match the staple- c

6、hannel pattern contained in the compatible staple unit. Performance. The stapler shall be capable of undergoing repeated assembly and disassembly cycles without jamming or breakage. When the user loads a compatible staple unit and follows the operating manual, the stapler shall place 52 surgical sta

10、ecified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein, Except ar; otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor may use hic own or any facilities suitable for the performance of the insp

11、ection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any o the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conrorm to prescribed requirements. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers own drawing

17、s, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensi

18、ons will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch- pound units, providing they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard No. 376, and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is man

19、ufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. the product.
