AMSC N/A FSC 3740 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION TRAP, FLYING INSECTS, ELECTROCUTING The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial

3、 item description as for use in all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description describes industrial type, heavy duty electrocuting devices used for surveillance and control of indoor flying insects. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The devices shall be classified by the following types and class

4、es: 2.1 Type. The type shall be one of the following: Type I Wall Mount Type II Ceiling Mount Type III Corner Mount Type IV Portable 2.2 Class. The class shall be one of the following: Class A 80 Watt Class B 15 - 75 Watt 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Electrical. The trap shall operate from a 115 v

5、olt, 60 hertz, A.C. power source or from an optional 220 volt, 50 hertz A. C. power source (see notes). The amperage draw shall be no greater than 5 amps. The grid voltage shall not exceed 5000 volts or 10 milliamperes. The power cord shall be not less than 1.8 meters (6 feet) in length and shall be

6、 of 3 wire grounded construction. 3.2 Attractant Lamps. The attractant lamps shall consist of two or three special 45.72 cm (18”) 15 watt/25 watt or 60.96 cm (2-feet) 40 watt ultraviolet (UV-A) fluorescent lamps. The maximum energy of the bulbs shall be emitted within wavelengths of 330 to 370 nanom

7、eters. The lamps shall be a minimum of 15 watts each and no greater than 60.96 cm (24“) long. The lamps shall be of Low Mercury, with virtually no lead UV-A lamps. 8、p shall be made of aluminum, aluminized steel or stainless steel and shall be rectangular in shape. A high voltage, low amperage electrical grid shall be incorporated to kill insects attracted to the lamps. The edge-to-edge distance between the electric grid wires shall not be greater than 10 millim

9、eters and the wires shall be no smaller in diameter than 14 gauge, alloy steel wire. The mounting brackets shall be located on the rear or top of the trap to facilitate installation. The tray used for collection and removal of dead insects shall be located at the bottom of the trap. The width of the

10、 tray on wall and ceiling mounted traps with horizontal lamps shall be at least 1/3 of the height of the electrocuting grid. All trays shall be at least 2.5 centimeters deep. The width and depth constraint does not apply to the corner mounted trap. The protective grid cover shall be hinged or otherw

11、ise designed for the purpose of trap maintenance, lamp replacement, and cleaning. Deactivating switches for the electrical grid shall be incorporated in the hinge or latch mechanism of the protective cover. 3.4 Weight. The trap shall weigh no more than 22.7 kilograms (50 pounds). 3.5 Workmanship. Th

12、e trap shall be free from burrs and sharp edges or projections or other defects which detract from its appearance, impair its performance or serviceability, and which may create an electrical or safety hazard. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered mater

13、ials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 4.2 The offeror/contractor shall comply, and be responsible for compliance by their subcontractor/suppliers, with the requirements of the Federal Food, Drug and Cosmetic Act; Occup

14、ational Safety and Health Act; and all other applicable Federal, State, and local statutes, ordinances, and regulations. 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product Conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this Commercial Item Description, conform to the produce

15、rs own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation packaging, packing, labeling, and marking. Preser

16、vation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order. 7. NOTES 7.1 Part or Identification Number (PIN).
