2、LATED) The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) establishes the government acquisition requirements for an insulated electrical binding post to be used as a wiring termina

3、tion and banana plug receptacle on terminal boards and test set panels. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The electrical binding post shall be classified and identified by the types in accordance with the characteristics specified in table I. The selected type of product to be supplied shall be specified in the ac

4、quisition order (see 7.4(b). TABLE I. Binding post dimensions. See figure i. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Components. The product shall be similar to the one shown in figure 1. The product shall consist of the binding post, insulated captive head and washers, and all mounting hardware. Beneficial

Unless specified otherwise in the acquisition order (see 7.4(c), the current-carrying portions of the binding post shall be brass conforming to the requirements of the American Society for T

9、esting and Materials (ASTM) B 16, “Standard Specification for Free-Cutting Brass Rod, Bar and Shapes for Use in Screw Machines“ (DoD adopted). 3.2.2 Finish. Unless specified otherwise in the acquisition order (see 7.4(d), metal portions of the binding post shall be gold plated in accordance with AST

10、M B 488, “Standard Specification for Electrodeposited Coatings of Gold for Engineering Uses“ (DoD adopted). 3.2.2.1 Unless otherwise specified in the acquisition order (see 7.4(e), the solder terminal end shall be tin plated in accordance with ASTM B 545, “Standard Specification for Electrodeposited

11、 Coatings of Tin“ (DoD adopted). 3.2.3 Insulation. The material used for the insulated portions of the binding post shall be specified in the acquisition order (see 7.4(f). The insulated parts of an individual binding post shall all be of the same color and, unless otherwise specified in the acquisi

Unless specified otherwise in the acquisition order (see 7.4(h), the non-turn feature shall be a flatted b

13、oss as shown in figure 1. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Recovered materials. The offerorkontractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. PRODUCT CONFORMANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Produ

14、ct conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial marketplace. The government

15、reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5.2 Market acceptability. The product offered must have been previously sold either to the government or on the commercial market. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking. For acquisition purposes, the products shall be preserved,

16、packed, and marked as specified in the acquisition order (see 7.4(i). 7. NOTES 7.1 Part or identification number (PIN). The following part or identification numbering procedure is for government purposes and does not constitute a requirement for the contractor. Dash number (1 = Type I (see table I)
