3、 Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description, for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This commercial item description (CID) covers technical grade anhydrous sodium sulfite for use as an oxygen scavenger in boiler water treatment operations. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 2.1

4、General. Sodium sulfite shall be furnished in powdered form. The material shall be free-flowing and free of clumps. 2.2 Chemical properties. When tested using the methods and procedures described in the American Chemical Society (ACS) “Reagent Chemicals: Specifications and Procedures” (ACS 86-20569)

5、, the anhydrous sodium sulfite acquired under this document shall conform to the requirements specified in table I. TABLE I. Manufacturers shall prepare and submit a material safety data sheet (MSDS) in accordance with FED-DTD-313 and meeting the Code o

7、f Federal Regulations (CFR) requirements of 29 CFR 1910.1200. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assu

8、rance practices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 5. PACKAGING. 5.1 Preservation, packing and marking. For acquisition purposes, the sodium sulfite shall be preserved, packed, and marked as spec

9、ified in the contract or order (see 6.2.a). 6.
