SC

2、OPE. This CID covers the general requirements for flat ring, tufted, steel fillers for high speed rotary sweepers. Fillers covered by this CID are intended for commercial/industriaI applications. 2. CLASSIFICATION. This CID uses a classification system which is included in the Part Identification Nu

3、mber (PIN) as shown in the following example (see 6.1). - O01 AA55527 - 1 CID number Dash number (see table I) 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS. 3.1 Design and construction. Fillers supplied to this CID shall be as specified herein. 3.2 Environmental conditions. The fillers shall satisfactorily withstand

4、storage temperatures ranging from 60F to +16OoF and operating temperatures ranging from -40F to +125“F. 3.3 Operating conditions. The fillers shall be for use on sweepers that operate at 0-800 rpm broom core rotational speed. 3.4 Performance. When operated on concrete runways at a sweeping speed of

5、35 mph, a rotational speed of 500 rpm and with a brush pattern of not less than 2 inches but not greater than 4 inches, a new filler shall be capable of operating satisfactorily for a minimum of 160 hours. The loss of wire 2 inches or longer throughout the life of the filler shall not exceed 2 perce

6、nt of the overall initial weight of the filler. The fillers shall maintain this performance at any operational temperature in the range specified in 3.2. 3.5 m. The ring shall be made of material conforming to Unified Numbering System designation G10180 steel. The ring shall have a thickness through

7、 the center of 1 inch +U16 inch. The inside diameter of the ring shall be as indicated in table I. A-A-55527 3.6 Wire bristles. The wire

10、 bristles shall be made of material conforming to SAE J403 (1070) steel with regular zinc fiash. The bristles shall be 0.018-0.020 inch diameter. The bristles shall be crimped with not less than 3 crimps per inch at a crimp amplitude of 1/16 inch minimum. The regular zinc flash coating shall be appl

11、ied at not less than 0.01 ounce per square foot. The tensile strength of the wire shall be in the range of 310,000-355,000 pounds per square inch after crimping. 3.7 Tuftc. The wire shall be formed into tufts. Each tuft shall consist of not less than 240 sweeping ends. There shall be 16 tufts per 36

12、 inch filler and 28 tufts per 46 inch filler. All tufts shall be mounted with a cup and/or damper ring extending a minimum of 3-112 inches up the length of the tuft for support. 3.8 Bristles and tuft attachment. All bristles and tufts shall be secured to the ring so as not to allow for loss of brist

13、les or tuft assemblies during use or storage. The outside diameter of the filler shall be as indicated in table I. Table I. Filler sizes. 3.9 w. Marking shall be permanent and legible and shall include, as a minimum: the manufacturers (MFGR) Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) code, a lot number

14、 or date of manufacture, and the MFGRs commercial part number on each filler. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS. 4.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance pr

15、actices, and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 4.2 Bid sample criteria. When specified in the contract or purchase order, a bid sample shall be inspected to determine compliance with the requirements

16、 specified in section 3. 4.3 Market acceptance. The following market acceptance criteria are necessary to document the quality of the product to be provided under this CID: 4.3.1 The company producing the item must have been producing a product meeting the requirements of this CID for at least 18 mo

17、nths. 4.3.2 The company must have sold 2,500 units meeting the requirements of this CID in the commercial marketplace over the past 12 months. 5. PACKAGING.
