38、his Standard specifies design, testing, and marking requirements for manufactured fall arresters and fixed vertical rigid rails that are used on a vertical or sloped plane.1.2 The equipment specified in this Standard is intended for use where there is a danger of falling from heights. In the event o

39、f fall, the fall arrester will lock on the fixed vertical rigid rail to arrest the fall.1.3 This Standard does not cover work positioning and horizontal travel systems.1.4 The values given in SI units are the units of record for the purposes of this Standard. Notes: 1) A fall-arrest or restraint anchorage is independent of any anchorag

46、e used to support or suspend workers or work platforms.2) An anchorage is generally a structural member such as a beam, girder, column, floor, or wall.Anchorage connector a component or subsystem for coupling a personal fall-arrest system to an anchorage.Connecting linkage a lanyard, energy absorber
