3、 standardized methods of testing, and has been prepared for use in both the laboratory and field by Corps of Engineers personnel concerned with the testing of concrete and concrete materials. This edition* supersedes the edition published in October 1942. This handbook was prepared in accordance wit
4、h authority from the Chief of Engineers as part of the “Civil Works Investigations - Concrete (Item CW 608)“ of the Corps of Engineers. The cooperation of the American Society for Testing and Materials in permitting the use of a number of its standards is appreciated. Suggestions for revisions, corr
5、ections, and additions will be welcomed from anyone who uses the handbook. Correspondence concerning such matters may be addressed to Chief, Structures Laboratory, US Army Engineer Waterways Experiment Station, 3909 Halls Ferry Road, Vicksburg, MS 39180-6199. In order that this handbook may be of gr
6、eatest service, it is intended that it be kept up to date by the issuance of supplementary items and the revision of existing items whenever indicated. To facilitate such revision and modification the handbook has been issued in loose-leaf form. The three-post binder in which the handbook is issued
7、is believed satisfactory for normal usage; however, the contents have been punched so that they may be placed in any standard three-ring loose-leaf binder designed to accommodate 6-in. by 9-in. material. The Handbook for Concrete and Cement was prepared at the Waterways Experiment Station, under the
8、 supervision of Herbert K. Cook, by Bryant Mather assisted by Thomas B. Kennedy, E. J. Callan, R. L. Curry, Katherine Mather, C. H. Willetts, and J. C.
