3、OTES The Departments of the Army, Navy and Air Force have collaborated in the preparation of this Guide Specification. Its contents and arrangements conform generally to the “CSI Masterformat - Master List of Section Titles and Numbers (MP-2-l),“ 10 Mar 1983 of the Construction Speci- fications Inst

In accordance with the CSI Masterformat, identify each Section by a number and a letter (see Index of Divisions and Sections). which the Section is located. number will begin with “A“ and continue alphabetically, as necessary, The number will be that of the Division under The letters followin

NOTES ON THE US
12、E OF THIS SPECIFICATION SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDA- TIONS: A “Plant List“ shall be in- cluded in the specifications and shown on the planting plan. Trees, shrubs, and vines shall be listed in separate groups alphabetically by their scien- tific names followed by common names. Requirements for each p
13、lant shall in- clude as part of the plant list, where applicable: whether matched pairs; height; caliper; spread of branches; age; number of canes, stems, or runners; whether B and B, BR, FG (field grown), or C (container grown); diameter of ball or pot, and spread of roots. Plants shall be keyed by
14、 numbers. may be shown or specified. 15、 project specifications, list the specifications and standards by their current titles, numbers and letters. Topsoil: Select appropriate paragraphs on topsoil. If ex- , isting soil is used, insert materials re- quired to properly condition for pH and friability. Where suitable topsoil is available o
16、n the site, stripping and stock- piling shall be included in Division 2 in Section for CLEARING, STRIPPING AND - - ROUGH GRADING. If suitable top- soil is not available, consider whether it is more economical to treat existing soil of graded areas with fertilizer and supplements or to haul in topsoi
17、l. Manure: Manure is recommended as an additive to improve soil for plant- ing only. It is not recommended as a mulch due to odor and, unless worked well into the soil, it would encourage surface rooting. Mulch: Select mulch which is most available locally, and if other by-products of local business
18、 are available and used in landscape planting opera- tions they should be considered. Be careful that material is not a fire hazard. Guying and Staking: Trees to be guyed or staked shall be listed as to species or by caliper. Guaranty: This guaranty is premised on a fall planting season from approxi
19、mately October 1 to December 15 and a spring season from time the ground can be worked to May 15. In areas where growing season is continuous, plants should be guaranteed for 6 months from date of installation.
