To provide an international forum for the discussion of all matters relating to the science, technology and art in the fields of light and lighting and for the interchange of information in these fields between countries. 2. To develop basic standards and procedures of metrology in the

To provide guidance in the application of principles and procedures in the development of international and national standards in the fields of light and lighting. 4. To prepare and publish standards, reports and other publications concerned with all matters relatin

5、g to the science, technology and art in the fields of light and lighting. 5. To maintain liaison and technical interaction with other international organisations concerned with matters related to the science, technology, standardisation and art in the fields of light and lighting. The work of the CI

6、E is carried on by seven Divisions each with about 20 Technical Committees. This work covers subjects ranging from fundamental matters to all types of lighting applications. The standards and technical reports developed by these international Divisions of the CIE are accepted throughout the world. A

7、 plenary session is held every four years at which the work of the Divisions and Technical Committees is reviewed, reported and plans are made for the future. The CIE is recognised as the authority on all aspects of light and lighting. As such it occupies an important position among international or

8、ganisations. 33、SCENCE IN THE CHARACTERIZATION OF IMAGING MEDIA SUMMARY The addition of fluorescence to either the inks or the substrate greatly increases the level of uncertainty in instrumental readings of the optical properties of printed images. CIE 76-1988 (CIE, 1988) shows that even research and standards lab

34、oratories experience a degradation in their reproducibility of up to one order of magnitude (10x), in the readings of total spectral radiance factor of strongly coloured, fluorescent materials. There are no recent studies of this magnitude or reliability but it is the opinion of this Reporter that t

35、he state-of-the-art has significantly advanced in the 15 years since the approval of CIE 76-1988. It is therefore recommended that Division 8 send a request to Division 2 to review CIE 76-1988 and establish a Technical Committee to update the contents of that report. This report contains results fro

36、m a study of the measurement of total spectral radiance factor of digital halftone printing over a range of substrates exhibiting various levels of fluorescence. Colorimetric properties were computed for CIE Illuminant D50 when the UV component was included and when the UV component was excluded fro

37、m the measurement source. The results indicate and quantify that the fluorescence of the substrate can be measured in both solid ink areas and halftone ink area with the effect being far larger in the latter. The magnitude of the CIELAB colour differences indicate that a significant lack of reproduc

38、ibility may be experienced between two imaging centers who attempt to apply colour management principles to their individual measurements of the same image printed on fluorescent substrates or between two laboratories who attempt to quantify the colour differences between images printed on fluoresce

39、nt stock and measured using instruments with different sources. The preliminary reports of CIE TC 1-44 “Practical daylight simulators for colorimetry“ have shown that significant variability exists among instruments claiming daylight simulations and an even greater difference between instruments wit

40、h UV-rich pulsed xenon lamps and those with UV-poor incandescent lamps. 42、Aucune tude rcente de ce problme na t entreprise, mais le rapporteur est davis que la fiabilit de ce type de mesures sest significativement amliore depuis que CIE 76-1988 a t approuv. On recommande donc que la Division 8 envoie une requte la Division 2 lui demandant de rviser CIE 76-1988 et dtablir

43、un comit technique charg de mettre jour les contenus de ce rapport. Ce rapport contient les rsultats dune tude portant sur la mesure du facteur de luminance nergtique spectral total pour des similigravures numriques sur des supports possdant divers degrs de fluorescence. Les proprits colorimtriques

44、furent calcules pour lilluminant CIE D50 en incluant et en excluant la partie UV de la source. Les chiffres indiquent que la fluorescence du support peut tre mesure autant dans les zones encre solide que dans les zones demi-ton, et que leffet est beaucoup plus marqu dans ces dernires. Lampleur des d

45、iffrences de couleurs CIELAB observes indique quun manque significatif de reproductibilit pourrait affecter deux centres dimagerie numrique qui tenterait dappliquer les principes de gestion des couleurs leurs mesures individuelles dune mme image imprime sur des supports fluorescents, ou encore entre

46、 deux laboratoires qui tenteraient de quantifier les diffrences de couleurs entre des images imprimes sur support fluorescent et mesures avec des instruments incorporant des sources de lumire diffrentes. Les rapports prliminaires du comit technique CIE TC 1-44 “Practical daylight simulators for colo

47、rimetry“ ont signal lexistence dune variabilit significative entre des instruments se rclamant tre des simulateurs de lumire du jour, et une diffrence encore CIE 163:2004 VI plus grande entre les instruments qui incorporent des lampes xnon pulses riches en UV et ceux incorporant des lampes incandesc

48、entes pauvres en UV. DIE WIRKUNG VON FLUORESZENZ BEI DER CHARAKTERISIERUNG VON BILDTRGERN ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Fluoreszierende Zustze in Tinten oder in Bildtrgern erhhen den Grad der Unsicherheit bei der Messung optischer Eigenschaften von gedruckten Bildern erheblich. Die Publikation CIE 76-1988 (CIE, 1

49、988) stellt dar, dass selbst Forschungslabore und Normungsinstitute bei der Messung von spektralen Remissionsfaktoren sehr bunter, fluoreszierender Materialien eine Verschlechterung der Reproduzierbarkeit bis zu einer Grenordnung (10x) feststellen. Es gibt bislang keine weiteren Studien, welche diese Grenordnung zuverlssig belegen. Die
