The standards and technical reports developed bythese international Divisions of the CIE are accepted throughout the world.A plenary session is held every four years at which the work of the Divisions and Technica

7、l Committees is reviewed, reportedand plans are made for the future. The CIE is recognised as the authority on all aspects of light and lighting. 35、ON AND VISUAL PERFORMANCESUMMARYIn the framework of a research project on vision models, the visual performance data ofdifferent authors have been compared with respect to their relation to background luminance,contrast and size of the critical object. Rea and Ouellette presented a model based on th

36、eirown data on “Reaction Time“, that allows the calculation of Visual Performance (VP) accordingto their definition for given visual task conditions. However, their definition of VP differed fromthose used in all of the other studies considered here.As part of this research project a model for VP wa

37、s developed, based on the verycomprehensive study of H. C. Weston in 1945. He used, as performance criteria, the speedwith which the form of a target could be detected and a term comprising accuracy ofrecognition. Investigations of Muck and Bodmann, using similar criteria, composed of searchtime and

38、 accuracy, have been compared with the Weston model and showed goodagreement. Likewise, the data of Simonson and Brozek, McNelis, Smith and Rea, and Loeand Waters have been examined.The differences between the Rea and Weston models can be attributed to thedifferent criteria used for measurements of

39、Visual Performance. In Reas case, the inverse ofthe time needed to see a target varying in size and contrast was used as a measure; InWestons case it was a composite of visual acuity, time and errors made. The differencesobserved are mainly due to the sensitivity to contrast: Reas model does not sho

40、w significantdependency on contrast but Westons does.It became evident that a strong relationship between visual acuity and performanceexists. 43、tie de ce projet de recherche un modle de la VP a t dvelopp, bassur ltude trs complte de H. C. Weston en 1945. Il utilisa, comme critre daptitude, lavitesse avec laquelle la forme dune cible peut tre dtecte et un terme relatif lexactitudede reconnaissance. Des investigations de Muck et Bodmann, util
