3、and Services. CGSB is engaged in the production of voluntary standards in a wide range of subject areas through the media of standards committees and the consensus process. CLASSIFICATION The pipe shall be supplied in the following classes according to crushing strength and as specited (par. 8.1): Classes Class 3000 Class 4000. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The pipe shall be a mixture of Portland ceme

32、nt, silica and asbestos fibre, with or without the addition of curing agents, free from organic rnaterials, formed under pressure and cured. ?he pipe shall be uniform in structure aiid of such Iiomogeiieous composition that it may be cut. drilled aiid iiiachined. 35、 - The couplitigs shall be components for joiiiiiig lengths of asbestos-cement pipe that, when properly installed with the proper accessories, develop airtight seals. 4.6 Fittings - Fittings for use with machined ends of pipe or with couplings shall be machined, trimmed or otherwise finished to such

36、 dimensions as will provide tight joiiits when assembled with proper accessories. 5. DETAILED REQUIREMENTS 5. I Sizes - The nominal sizes of the pipe, based on the inside diameter of the unmachined portion, shall be as given in Table 1 and as specified (par. 8.1). The average inside diameter shall n

37、ot be less than the nominal size by more than 6.0 inm or 1.5%, whichever is greater. Density - The miniinum density of the cured material shall be 1600 kg/m3 when tested in accordance with BNQ standard 2639-230, section 8, using a piece of material from the length of pipe broken during the flexural

38、strength test (par. 5.9) as the test specimen. 39、pipe shall be 2.0,3.0 or 4.0 in. The tolerances for 2.0 and 3.0 in lengths shall be f 25 mm and for 4.0 in lengths, +O, -35 mm. At least 85% of the total length of any class and size of pipe shall be in standard lengths as specified (par. 8.1). The remaining 15% inay be in randoin lengths of iiot le

40、ss than 1.5 in when the standard length is 2.0 m and not less than 2.0 m when the standard length is 3.0 or 4.0 m. 5.4 Machine End Dimensions - The machined end of the pipe shall have the dimensions shown it1 Table 2. 44、all be capable of withstanding the same minimum crushing and hydrostatic strength requirements as specified for the class of pipe with which they are being used, without loss of joint sealing properties. 5.6 5.7 Rubber Sealing Rings - The rubber rings shall conform to tlie requirements of ASTM D 186

45、9 and shall be supplied in an oil-resistant or non-oil-resistant type as specified (par. 8. i). 5.8 Hydrostatic Strength - Wien tested in accordance with ASTM C 500 each length of pipe of all sizes shall not show signs of leaking, weeping or cracking when tested under an internal water pressure of 3

46、45 kPa. Flexural Strength - Wheii tested in accordance with ASTM C 500. staiidwd lengths of pipe shall liave sufficient flexural strength to withstand, without failure. the loads specified in Table 3. The test load shall be applied for 5 s at the third points of a 3.6 m span for 4.0 m lengths of pip
