2、e “Telecomrriimications” Commission: “The European Conference of Postal and Telecommunications Administrations, consider. irig (a) the difficulties of handling radiotelephone traffic in the maritime mobile service on hectometric waves between (b) that the international ship-to-shore frequency 2049 k

3、Hz (Region 1) is very overloaded in European waters, (c) the possibility under RR 4362-4365 of using 2056 kHz (Region 1) as a supplementary ship-to-shore frequency (d) the need, as far as possible, to avoid the use of national ship/shore frequencies by foreign ships, which in many (e) the terms of R

4、R 4367 which permit ships to use the frequencies of ships of the same nationality as the coast station (f) the use of frequency synthesizers which permit ships to transmit on any desired frequency without the need for (g) that the ability to use any desired frequency can lead to abuse, coast station

5、s and ships of different nationality, for foreign ships, cases can produce harmful interference, with which they are in contact, by agreement between the Administrations concerned, modification to the ships equipment, recommends 1. that all possible steps be taken to encourage the use of 2056 kHz as

6、 well as 2049 kHz in all ships for contact with foreign coast stations, 2. that CEPT Administsations regard the adoption of this present Recommendation as constituting the agreement mentioned in paragraph (e) above, 3. that CEPT Administrations will supply the Administration responsible for the “Com

7、pendium of Recommenda- tions” with up to date information regarding the frequencies which form the subject of the agreement mentioned in paragraph 2. above, and where necessary, information on corresponding coast station frequencies, 4. that CEPT Administrations take such precautions as are necessar
