GENERAL 1.1. This specification details the performance
7、and facility requirements to be provided by a document facsimile machine which is capable of transmitting and receiving an IS0 A4 size document in nominally 3 minutes on the General switched telephone network (GSTN). The technical facilities and the procedural require- ments have been selected from
8、within the framework of CCITT Recommendations T.3 and T.30. The document facsimile machine is referred to throughout this specification as the ?facsimile machine?. The specification covers, amongst others, the following aspects of the facsimile machine: - the mechanical construction; - the technical
9、 facilities; - the operational requirements related to the construction and technical facilities; - the performance of the scanning, transmission, reception and document reproduction facilities; - the procedural requirements to cover both manual and automatic reception of single and multi-page a 1.2

The working life of the facsimile machine when correctly maintained shall be at least 5 years and the requirements of this specification shall be met over the whole of this period. Detailed requirements will be specified by the appropriate Administration. The facsimile machine deta
11、iled in this specification is required to meet, for the present time, the needs of the low usage market. 1.4. 2. CONSTRUCTION 2.1. General The particular method of construction shail be determined by the manufacturer but shall conform to good engineering practice. Any special requirements will be de

The facsimile machine shall be housed in a single enclosure and shall be readily transportable. 2.3. Weight F
13、or a simple manual type of facsimile machine, i.e. one that does not provide automatic answering facilities, the weight shall not exceed 20 kg. The weight of a facsimile machine that does provide automatic answering facilities shall not exceed 30 kg. When appropriate, hand holds shall be provided lo

It is preferred that the facsimile machine shall be capable of accepting and scanning documents whose thickness is greater than O. 15 mm. 3,2, 3.2.1, 3.2.2. 3.2.3. 3.2.4. 3.2.5. 3.2.5.1. 3.2.5.2. 3.2.6. 3.2.7. 3.2,8. 3.2.9. Document scanning The document shall be scanned from left to right
18、with subsequent scans adjacent to and below the previous scan. The direction of scanning refers to viewing the document in the vertical plane. The total scanning line length shall be 215 mm nominal. The usable scanning line length shall be 205 mm minimum. The end of the usable scanning line length s

The automatic equaliser, when provided, shall respond only to signals with a frequency of 1,1001 56 Hz and 2,1002 16 Hz over the receive signal level range of -5 to
22、at least -45 dBm. Preferably, the receiver shall be capable of providing to the recording mechanism, intermediate shades of grey between the “black* and “white” limits. It is preferred that a linear response be achieved if this facility is provided and that a service adjustable range of grey shades

CONTROL PROCEDURES FOR MFSSAGE TRANSMISSION AND RECEPTION For exact details of the formats of the signals specied in this
24、 section, please refer to CCITT Recommenda- tion T.30. The output levels of the signals detailed in this section shall not be higher than that set for the 2,100 Hz carrier signal. When provided, the Line conditioning signal level shall be the same as that set for the 2,100 Hz carrier signal. Transmi
