4、zers, Pneumatic conveors, Screw conveyors, and related equipment. The purpose of this brochure is to provide, for members and non-members, guidelines for the selection and application of safety labels for use on conveyors and related material handling equipment. This program is intended as a volunta
5、ry guide and should be incorporated into a comprehensive safety program by users of conveyors and related equipment. 7、ation in the design, manufacture, installation, use, and maintenance of conveyors. It is well recognized that in many instances, safety labels can increase operator and maintenance personnel awareness of the inherent hazards involved in conveyors or other types of moving equipment. The process of de
8、signing and installing conveyors should be supervised by qualified personnel. The operation and maintenance of conveyors should also be performed and supervised by personnel trained to safely do so. The purpose of this brochure is to provide guidelines for the selection and application of safety lab
9、els for use on conveyors and related equipment. As part of the conveyor users comprehensive safety programs, the users of conveyors shall inspect and review safety labels to insure their integrity and maximize their effectiveness in injury prevention. Relation to American National Standards Current
10、standards are cited as references for the development of these guidelines. 12、Regular Duty Labels These labels are intended for interior use. Face Stock: 4 mil white vinyl (high tack perm) 50# Adhesive: I406-K, Permanent Adhesive Laminate: 1 mil clear Polyprolene Laminate Ink: UV resistant inks Temperature Service Range: ( - ) 65 to ( + ) 200 degrees Temperature Application:
13、( + ) 35 degrees Surfaces: High adhesion to most difficult substrates, especially plastics. Severe Duty Labels These labels are intended for exterior use. Face Stock: 4 mil white vinyl (high tack perm) 50# Adhesive: I406-K, Permanent Adhesive Laminate: 1.42 clear UV resistant Polyester Laminate Ink:
14、 UV resistant inks Temperature Service Range: ( - ) 40 to ( + ) 200 degrees Temperature Application: ( + ) 50 degrees Surfaces: Heat resistance, dimensional stability, outdoor use, weather resistance.Adheres to Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Painted surfaces.Application InstructionsProper procedures sho
15、uld be used in applying these or any other labels. 1. Insure that the surface is cleaned and free of dirt, dust, grease, and moisture. 2. If the surface is painted, insure that the paint is dry. 3. Surface temperature above 40 degrees F . 4. Press the label on after applying it to the surface. One o
16、r more passes over the label with a sponge or rubber roller will insure that the glue is in good contact with the majority of the surface to which it is expected to adhere. 17、ns and Labels SIGNAL WORD The word or words that designate a degree or level of hazard seriousness. The signal words for product safety signs are DANGER, WARNING , and CAUTION. DANGER: Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or serious injury. This sig
18、nal word is to be limited to the most extreme situations. WARNING: Indicates potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or serious injury. CAUTION: Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or moderate injury. It may also
19、 be used to alert against unsafe practices. NOTE: DANGER or WARNING should not be considered for property damage accidents unless personal injury risk appropriate to those levels is also involved. CAUTION is permitted for property - damage - only accidents. SYMBOL / PICTORIAL A graphic representatio
20、n intended to convey a message without the use of words. It may represent a hazard, a hazardous situation, a precaution to avoid a hazard, a result of not avoiding a hazard, or any combination of these messages. WORD MESSAGE Consists of two parts. The first section describes the hazard. The second s
21、ection instructs what to do or not do to avoid the hazard.
