Vehicle Body6.1 Identification If an accessibility s

15、ymbol is fitted (see Figure 1), it shall comply with the following:(a) it shall be a minimum size of 100 100 mm (4 4 in); and(b) the symbol shall be the international symbol of access shown in CSA Standard CAN/CSA-B651.6.2 Rear Bumpers A rear bumper(s) shall be furnished and attached directly to the

16、 chassis frame with provisions forremoval. It shall extend beyond the rearmost part of the body surface at least 25 mm (1 in) measured atthe floor line. It shall be of sufficient strength to permit the vehicle to be pushed by another vehicle onlevel ground at rated GVW without major permanent distor

17、tion.6.3 Entrances6.3.1 Ambulatory Entrance Doors 6.3.1.1There shall be an ambulatory entrance door on the right side of the vehicle. Where only one mobility aidentrance is provided, it shall not be on the left side of the vehicle.6.3.1.2On a split-type door, if one section opens inward and the othe

18、r opens outward, the front section shallopen outward.6.3.1.3Vertical closing edges of a split- or jack-knife-type door shall be equipped with at least a total of 25 mm(1 in) of flexible material between the two door leaves to minimize the possibility of injury to fingers.6.3.1.4The ambulatory entran

19、ce door(s) shall be provided with a means to prevent unintended closing duringloading or unloading of passengers. 6.3.1.5Where ambulatory entrance door openings are less than 1930 mm (76 in) in height, they shall bepadded at the top interior edge with material meeting the requirements of Clause 6.10

20、.3.) 6.3.1.6The minimum dimensions of the ambulatory entrance door opening shall be a clear(a) horizontal opening of at least 580 mm (23 in) at the widest point and 400 mm (16 in) at thenarrowest point; and(b) vertical opening of at least (i) 1.12 m (44 in) on vehicles having a GVWR of 2700 kg (5940

21、 lb) or less, where the ambulatorypassenger seat is located directly adjacent to the ambulatory entrance door;(ii) 1.40 m (56 in) on vehicles having a GVWR greater than 2700 kg (5940 lb), but less than or equalto 4536 kg (10 000 lb); andD409-02 Canadian Standards AssociationOctober 20048 (Replaces p

22、. 8, March 2002)(iii) 1.83 m (72 in) on vehicles having a GVWR greater than 4536 kg (10 000 lb). 6.3.2 Steps6.3.2.1The static coefficient of friction of step covering material when measured in accordance withASTM Standard D 2047, under dry conditions, shall be a minimum of 0.5.6.3.2.2There shall be

23、a contrasting colour stripe, not less than 38 mm (1.5 in) and not more than 75 mm (3 in)wide, on the leading edge of the horizontal surface of each step and the floor surface at the stepentrance.6.3.2.3Except for school buses, the dimensions of steps at the ambulatory entrance shall be as follows:(a

24、) the height of the first step from ground level a maximum of 380 mm (15 in);(b) the height of steps in the vehicle a maximum of 230 mm (9 in);(c) the variation in the height of steps in the vehicle a maximum of 25 mm (1 in);(d) the depth of steps (front to back) a minimum of 215 mm (8.5 in); and(e)

25、 the width of steps (side to side) a minimum of 400 mm (16 in).6.3.2.4All steps shall be a constant depth except for auxiliary and school bus steps.6.3.2.5The horizontal step nosing (overhang) shall not exceed 10 mm (0.375 in).6.3.2.6The horizontal step nosing at the floor level shall be flush with

26、the floor.6.3.3 Mobility Aid EntranceThe minimum dimensions of the mobility aid clear entrance opening with lift and ramp installed shall beas follows:(a) width 760 mm (30 in); and(b) vertical 1400 mm (56 in).Note: See Clause A9 in Appendix A for the height of the mobility aid door opening if it is

27、necessary to accommodateambulatory passengers.6.3.4 Drip MouldingThere shall be a drip moulding above each door to direct water to either side of the opening.6.4 Emergency Exits ) 6.4.1 GeneralExcept for school buses, each vehicle shall be provided with an emergency exit door with a minimumwidth of

28、0.81 m (32 in) and a minimum height of 1.14 m (45 in). For vehicles having a GVWR of 2700 kg (5940 lb) or less, the emergency exit shall have a minimum width of 720 mm (28.5 in) and aminimum height of 1.12 m (44 in). The emergency exit door shall be on a different wall of the vehiclethan the mobilit

29、y aid entrance specified in Clause 6.3.3. Where there are two mobility aid entrances,each on a separate wall, one may be designated as an emergency exit. 30、9) 6.4.2 ExceptionWhere a vehicle specification includes only the provision of a rear mobility aid entrance and a sideambulatory entrance (ie, two entrances, each on a separate wall), the side entrance may be identified asthe emergency exit. This door shall meet the requirements of Clause 6.4.1. 6.4

31、.3 Securement during UnloadingEmergency exits shall be provided with a means to secure them against unintended closing duringunloading of passengers.6.5 Lighting 6.5.1Vehicles shall be equipped with a light(a) at the lift door that automatically operates when the door opens and illuminates the lift

32、platform orramp; and(b) above or beside each passenger access door to illuminate the steps. Such lights shall be actuatedautomatically when the door opens.6.5.2Any stepwell or doorway immediately adjacent to the driver shall have, when the door is open, at least22 lux (2 foot candles) illumination m

33、easured at the step tread or lift platform.6.6 Inside Height (for Vehicles Having a GVWR of More than 4536 kg(10 000 lb)The inside body floor-to-ceiling height shall be a minimum 1830 mm (72 in), measured at any point onthe longitudinal centreline of the vehicle.Note: See Clause A5 in Appendix A for

34、 the inside body floor-to-ceiling height on vehicles having a GVWR of 4536 kg(10 000 lb) and under.6.7 Floor ) 6.7.1 GeneralThe floor shall have a surface or an overlay of a surface suitable for foot traffic. Any overlay shall have aminimum design compression rating of 2344 kPa (340 psi) when measur

35、ed perpendicular to the plane ofthe floor surface. See Clause A15 in Appendix A for additional information on the vehicle flooring. 6.7.2 SecurementThe floor covering shall not crack when subjected to sudden temperature change. With the exception ofthe drivers area, the floor covering shall be secur

36、ely bonded to the floor with a waterproof material, asrecommended by the manufacturer of the floor covering material. All seams shall be sealed with awaterproof sealer.) 6.7.3 Static Coefficient of FrictionThe static coefficient of friction of the flooring material, when measured in accordance with

37、a material-specific standard(s), shall be a minimum of 0.5 under dry conditions and a minimum of 0.65 under wetconditions. Examples of applicable standards include ASTM Standard D 2047 and ANSI/RESNAWC13-1998 (modified) as defined in the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (U.S.) DOTStand

40、ing a GVWR of less than 7000 kg (15 400 lb), the mobility aid position shall be forwardfacing. For vehicles having a GVWR of 7000 kg (15 400 lb) or greater, the mobility aid position shall beforward or rearward facing.Note: See CSA Standards Z604 and Z605.6.8.2 Ambulatory Passenger Seating (except f

41、or School Buses)6.8.2.1The distance from the front of each seatback to the back of the seat ahead, measured on a horizontalplane at the centre of the seat cushion surface, shall be a minimum of 685 mm (27 in).6.8.2.2The minimum rump width (space per person) shall be 380 mm (15 in).) 6.8.2.3The heigh

42、t of a seat cushion above the floor or footrest shall be between 400 and 480 mm (16 and 19 in). For vehicles with a GVWR of 2700 kg or less, the height of the seat cushion shall be as provided by the original equipment manufacturer. 6.8.2.4The depth of the seat (front to back) shall be between 380 a

43、nd 430 mm (15 and 17 in).6.8.2.5Seats shall be level or slope downwards towards the back.6.8.2.6Seatbacks shall be a minimum of 380 mm (15 in) in height.6.8.3 All Passenger Seating6.8.3.1Where a passageway is required for movement of a mobility aid, there shall be a minimum clear width of760 mm (30

48、 (26 26 in) and placed at the centroid of the platform, unlessdesigned to be stowed with a passenger on board.8.9 Reliability and Durability8.9.1 GeneralThere shall be no evidence of failures (eg, fatigue cracks) or creation of hazardous conditions during theaccelerated life cycle test in Clause 8.9

Electrical components and wiring, hydraulic components, drivecomponents, and fasteners shall be considered as integral parts of the lift system for the purposes of the test.8.9.2 Accelerated Life Cycle TestAn accelerated life cycle test shall be performed on a test fixture by repeating the lift use cycle 4400 times in an ambient temperature of 10 to 32C (50 to 90F) as follows:(a) the time between each cycle shall be between 6 and 7 min;(b) alt
