7、cs of round wire concentric lay overhead electrical stranded conductors made of combinations of any of the following metal wires:(a) aluminum wires:(i) hard-drawn aluminum in accordance with CAN/CSA-C60889, designated A1;(ii) aluminum alloy AA6101-T81 in accordance with CAN/CSA-C60104, designated A2
8、; and(iii) aluminum alloy AA6101-T83 in accordance with CAN/CSA-C60104, designated A4;(b) zinc-coated steel wires in accordance with CAN/CSA-C60888:(i) regular strength steel, designated S1A or S1B, where A and B are zinc coating classes;(ii) high strength steel, designated S2A or S2B; and(iii) extr
9、a high strength steel, designated S3A; and(c) aluminum-clad steel wires in accordance with CAN/CSA-C61232 using Class 20, designated 20SA Type A, corresponding to a conductivity of 20.3% IACS.1.2The conductor designations covered by this Standard include but are not limited to (a) A1, A2, A4;(b) A1/

16、he purpose of this Standard, any wire made of zinc-coated steel or aluminum-clad steel.5 Requirements for stranded conductors5.1 MaterialReplace this clause with the followingStranded conductors shall be made up of aluminum wires and, when applicable, of round zinc-coated steel wires or round alumin
17、um-clad steel wires. All wires shall have before stranding the properties specified in CAN/CSA-C60104, CAN/CSA-C60888, CAN/CSA-C60889, or CAN/CSA-C61232.5.4.4Replace this clause with the followingThe lay ratios for the steel wire layers shall be as follows: (a) The lay ratio for the 6 wire layer sha
18、ll be not less than 16 nor more than 26. (b) The lay ratio for the 12 wire layer shall be not less than 14 nor more than 22.(c) The lay ratio for subsequent layers shall be not less than 14 nor more than 20.5.4.6Replace this clause with the followingIn a conductor having multiple layers of aluminum
19、wires, the lay ratio of an aluminum layer shall not be greater than the lay ratio of the aluminum layer immediately under it. Similarly, in a conductor having multiple layers of steel wires, the lay ratio of a steel layer shall not be greater than the lay ratio of the steel layer immediately under i

22、re and electric butt cold upset welded joints.5.7 Conductor strength5.7.2Replace this clause with the followingThe rated tensile strength of composite Ax/Syz or Ax/cSA conductors shall be the sum of the tensile strength of the aluminum portion plus the strength of steel corresponding to an elongatio
23、n compatible with that of aluminum at rupture load. For the purpose of specification and practicability, this strength of steel is conservatively established at 1% extension in a 250 mm gauge length.5.7.3Replace this clause with the followingThe rated tensile strength of composite aluminum conductor
