13、” of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and has been taken over as EN ISO 8493:2004 by Technical Committee ECISS/TC 29 “Steel tubes and fittings for steel tubes“, the secretariat of which is held by UNI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, e

14、ither by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by January 2005, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by January 2005. ThisInternationalStandardisintendedfortubeshavinganoutsidediameternogreaterthan150mm(100mmfor lightmetals)andathicknessnog

Preferredanglesfortheconicalmandrelare30,45and60. 5Test piece 5.1 Thelengthofthetestpiecedependsontheangleoftheconeofthedriftexpansionconicalmandrel.Whenthis angleisequaltoorlessthan30,theleng

27、thofthetestpieceshallbeapproximately L=2 D.Whenthisangleis greaterthan30,thelengthofthetestpieceshallbeapproximately L=1,5 D. Thetestpiecemaybeshorterprovidedthattheremainingcylindricalpartofthetestpieceafterexpansionisatleast 0,5 D. 5.2 Bothendsofthetestpieceshallbeintheplaneperpendiculartotheaxiso

28、fthetube.Theedgesoftheendto betestedmayberoundedbyfilingorchamferedbyothermethods. NOTENonroundedornonchamferededgesarepermissibleifthetestresultmeetsthetestrequirements. 5.3 Whenweldedtubesaresubjectedtothetest,theinternalweldflashmayberemoved. 6Procedure 6.1 Ingeneral,thetestshallbecarriedoutatamb

29、ienttemperaturewithinthelimitsof10Cto35C.Thetest carriedoutundercontrolledconditionsshallbemadeatatemperatureof23C 5C. 6.2 Forcetheconicalmandrelintothetestpiece,withoutshock,untiltherequiredoutsidediameterisreached.The axisoftheconicalmandrel shallbealignedwiththeaxisofthetube. Themaximumoutsidedia

30、meteroftheexpandedpartofthetestpiece, D u ,orrelativeexpansionasapercentageof theoriginaldiameter, D,shallbespecifiedintherelevantproductstandard.Theangleoftheconicalmandrel, b, maybespecifiedintherelevantproductstandard. Whenlongitudinallyweldedtubesaresubjectedtothetest,theconicalmandrelmaybeprovi

31、dedwithagrooveto accommodateaninternalweldflash. 6.3 Theconicalmandrelmaybelubricated.Itshallnotrotaterelativetothetestpieceduringthetest. 6.4 Incaseofdispute,therateofpenetrationoftheconicalmandrelshallnotexceed50mm/min. 6.5 Interpretationofthedriftexpandingtestshallbecarriedoutinaccordancewithther

32、equirementsofthe relevantproductstandard.Whentheserequirementsarenotspecified,thetestpieceshallbeconsideredtohave passedthetestifnocracksarevisiblewithouttheuseofmagnifyingaids.Slightcrackingattheedgesshallnotbe consideredcauseforrejection.
