19、 Connector family 1 Scope This part of IEC 61754 defines the standard interface dimensions for the type F-SMA family of connectors. 2 Description Type F-SMA defines a single way connector, characterized by a -36 UNS thread coupling mechanism and a cylindrical ferrule of 3,175 mm nominal diameter. Th

20、e optical alignment of the connector is achieved by a rigid bore sleeve. It is a non-contacting connector. The applied configuration is: plug/adaptor/plug, or plug/socket. The F-SMA connector is suited for applications in combination with multimode fibres. It includes two types of plugs: one (F-SMA

21、I) is a precision type for use with silica fibres from categories A1 / A2 / A3 / A4 (according to IEC 60793-21); the other (F-SMA II) is a modified type for use with large core plastic optical fibres (POF) of type A4 a / A4 d. The two plugs have mechanical compatibility with the adaptor and the rece

22、ptacle. 3 Interfaces The subsequent pages define the standard interfaces for the type F-SMA connector family.
