21、he test method for the determination of the hydrolytic stability of moulded thermosets made of room temperature or oven-curing reaction resins when subjected to the simultaneous influence of water and high temperature. With this test method, the irreversible change of mechanical and electrical prope

27、3.1 dielectric dissipation factor and permittivity See clause 37 of IEC60455-2 which refers to IEC60250. 3.2 tensile strength Tensile strength of the specimen is measured in accordance with ISO527-2. 4 Test specimens 4.1 Dissipation factor and permittivity The dimensions of the test specimens for th

28、e evaluation of dissipation factor retention versus temperature shall be (100 1) mm (100 1) mm (1 0,1) mm. The same test specimens shall be measured prior and after the immersion test (clause7) for each temperature/time combination used. If the preparation of test specimens of1mm thickness is not po

29、ssible (due to high viscosity or high filling rate of the reaction resin), test specimens of3mm 0,1mm shall be used. 4.2 Tensile strength At least three individual test specimens shall be tested for each property evaluated at each test temperature and time. For the determination of the properties of

30、 the untreated moulded thermosets10test specimens shall be used. Unless otherwise specified, the dimensions for the test specimens shall be in accordance with type1B of ISO527-2. 5 Conditioning Test specimens prepared from room-temperature curing reaction resins shall be stored24h at room temperatur

31、e in accordance with IEC60212 and finally cured for24h at80C. The test specimens prepared from oven-curing reaction resins shall be conditioned according to the manufacturers recommendation in order to obtain well cured specimens. The test specimens shall be tested immediately after oven curing and

32、conditioning at room temperature or stored in a desiccator prior to testing. After the bath immersion, the test specimens shall be dried at60C2K for48h at an absolute pressure of less than100Pa and then stored at room temperature for a minimum of8h in a desiccator prior to further testing. 6 Apparat

33、us 6.1 Ageing vessel The ageing vessel shall have a minimum volume of5l.EN61234-2:1998 4 BSI 04-1999 For pressure vessels, not more than5% water loss is permissible after1000h at the test temperature. The material of the ageing vessel shall be chosen so that the ageing vessel is able to satisfy the

34、following calibration inertness test. Demineralized water according to7.2 is heated at the highest test temperature140C 2K for1000h. The pH of the water as measured after the inertness test shall not change from7,0 0,5 to more than7,0 1,5 and the conductivity shall not extend beyond the range of5004

35、S/m to1000 4S/m. Specimens prepared from room-temperature curing reaction resins can be aged in a glass container covered with aluminium foil. NOTENational codes and regulations for the use of pressure vessels should be observed. 6.2 Temperature measuring device The temperature inside the ageing ves

36、sel or glass container shall be measured with a thermocouple in accordance with IEC60584-1 and IEC60584-2. 6.3 pH-meter The pH-meter shall have an accuracy of at least 0,05 pH 7 Procedure 7.1 Outline The principle of this test is that the test specimens made of moulded thermosets are immersed in wat

37、er for different times and at different temperatures. The test specimens are then dried again according to clause5 and tested to determine the electrical and mechanical properties. The percent retention of those electrical and mechanical properties, in comparison to the untreated test specimens, is

38、reported. 7.2 Treatment medium Demineralized water is used which, before treatment commences, shall have a conductivity of less than5004S/m and a pH of7,0 0,5. 7.3 Immersion treatment procedure The test specimens shall be prepared and conditioned in accordance with clauses4 and5 and subjected to wat

39、er immersion in the ageing vessel. The test specimens shall not be subjected to any physical stress nor is any direct contact between adjacent specimens permitted. Only one type of moulded thermosets shall be tested in the vessel at one time; the water in the vessel shall be changed when the type of

40、 resin tested in subsequent trials is changed. 7.4 Temperature of treatment The temperatures, which shall be applied for test specimens prepared from room temperature curing reaction resins as well as from oven-curing reaction resins are: for moulded thermosets with a temperature index 155 : 90C 2K,

41、 120C 2K and140C2K. Except for mouldet thermosets with a temperature index 100the testing shall include at least two of these temperatures. The temperature inside the pressure vessel shall be measured with a thermocouple in accordance with6.2. 7.5 Duration of the treatment The recommended times for

42、the treatment at each temperature are48h and168h. Optional treatment periods of500h and1000h may also be used. The interruption of the treatment caused by removal of samples from the vessel for testing should be as short as possible. Any volume of water lost in this process shall be replaced. 8 Resu

43、lts The results of the mechanical and electrical property tests conducted shall be given as residual mean values, expressed in percent of the mean initial value of the property. The calculation is as follows: where Ris the percentage of the property retained; (t,T) is the mean value at time t and te

44、mperature T; cis the initial mean value; can be tan $ (dissipation factor) or b) the temperature applied in treatment of the test specimens; c) the treatment time of the specimens; d) percent retention of tensile strength for each time-temperature combination tested; e) percent retention of the diss
