Bymakingcertainassumptionsitisfeasibletodefineruleswhicharesimpleyetrigorousenoughfordesignofall typesofswitchesandcrossings.Someoftheserulesassumea2axlebogieorvehicle.Theneedforotherspecial requirementssuchasthoseposedby3axleorothervehiclesmustbestatedbytheCustomer. 3.2 Wheelandtrackdimensions Th

36、ewheelflangewhichfallsontheflangeradiusandwhichthereforeexceedstheangleforsafeguidance.The switchandcrossingSuppliershallensurethatguidancecontactdoesnottakeplacewithinthiszoneforbothnew andwornwheels,exceptwhereitisagreedthatflangerunningisanormaloperatingregime. 37、. 3.7.3Flangeway depth Thedepthoftheflangewayshallbesufficienttopreventflangesfromrunningontheflooroftheflangewayexceptif otherwiserequiredbytheCustomer.Thisshallbeverifiedconsideringtheincreaseddepthofflangeofamaximum wornwheelandwiththeshallowflangewayofamaximumwornrunningsurfaceofarail. 4 Guidanc
