Scope1.1 This specification covers two types of lightweight elec-trical equipment shelters designed for transport on theM1152A1, M1152A1 with B2 Armo
3、r Kit, M1037, and M1097High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (HMMWV).These shelters are transported by rail, air, marine and highwaywhen mounted or dismounted from their vehicles.1.2 ClassificationThe shelters will be of the followingtypes, as specified (see 6.2).1.2.1 Type IShelter, Electrical

The location of thecenter-of-gravity shall be determined by the contractor usingthe first arti
15、cle unit of production with simulated missionpayload.3.6 Recycled, Recovered or Environmentally PreferableMaterialsRecycled, recovered, or environmentally prefer-able materials should be used to the maximum extent possibleprovided that the material meets or exceeds the operational andmaintenance req
16、uirements, and promotes economically advan-tageous life cycle costs.3.7 ToxicityMaterials used shall cause no skin irritationsor other injuries and produce no vapor hazards, including theemission of toxic or noxious odors, to personnel, in or aroundthe shelter, under all environmental conditions. Ex
17、posure ofpersonnel to toxic substances shall not be in excess of thethreshold values contained in theACGIH Threshold Limit Val-ues.3.8 Flame ResistanceThe shelter shall be designed to befire resistant in accordance with Specification E1925.4. Verification4.1 Classification of InspectionsAlternative
18、test methods,techniques, or equipment, such as the application of statisticalprocess control, the contractor may propose tool control or costeffective sampling procedures. Acceptable alternative verifica-tion approaches, including the use of sample testing, shall beE2377 104identified in the contrac
19、t. The inspection requirements speci-fied herein are classified as follows:4.1.1 First Article InspectionWhen a first article inspec-tion is required, it shall be applied to the first article submittedin accordance with 3.1. Specific verifications to be performedshall be defined by the contract (see
20、 6.2) and shall includeverifications contained in Table 6.4.1.2 Conformance InspectionWhen a conformance in-spection is required (see 6.2), specific inspections to beperformed shall be defined in the contract (see 6.2) and shallinclude any verification contained herein.4.2 Physical Performance Verif
21、ication:4.2.1 Weight and Payload:4.2.1.1 WeightCompliance with 3.2.1 shall be determinedby weighing the shelter, the mounting kit, and the pintleextension including their associated hardware. The scale usedshall have 1 lb (453.6 g) or less graduation and shall have anaccuracy of at least 61 lb (453.
22、6 g). The scale shall have acurrent calibration, traceable to the National Institute forStandards and Technology. Any item exceeding maximumweight listed in Table 1 shall be considered a failure.4.2.1.2 PayloadRacks, shelves, attaching hardware, andindividual weights shall be installed in the shelte
23、r to simulatea payload of 3300 lb (1496.9 kg) (see 3.2.1) The simulatedpayload shall be distributed throughout the shelter (see 6.2).This simulated payload shall be used for all verifications whichrequire a payload, and any failure of this payload (racks,shelves, or attaching hardware) attributable
24、to the shelterduring the course of the test shall constitute failure of the testbeing performed.4.2.2 Parts Interchangeability:4.2.2.1 Spare-partsCompliance with 3.2.2.1 shall be de-termined by selecting two shelters from the production lot ofcompleted shelters.
