And what is more, the games serve us globalization
5、to our own liking and speed. Today , I like America. Tomorrow, Spain. The next day, Uruguay. What a welcome reverse to patriotism and nationalism, but one where we can devote casual loyalty to different nations. This self-pleasing, free encounter with the world sure beats the darker news reports of
6、the combination of Latin American drug companies, G-8 disharmony, or the disturbing Afghan-Pakistan border. And those skillful and active and multilingual and multicolored players. How we love to cheer them, running about the field. Normally, these athletes pledge allegiance to money whichever footb
7、all club will pay them the most. But for this summer, and in this instance, they play for one nations glory. More than 200 million people across the globe are migrants, according to the United Nations, while one quarter of children in the USA are immigrants or children of immigrants. Who better embo
8、dies, and even transcends, the transnational flow of labor than those courageous players? Nor does it ask another important question which is not how many make it through to a traditional college diploma, but how many need to? In a p

Kellogg Foundation: “Work and Workers for the 21st Century“, it is pointed out that in 2018 as is the case today-two of three jobs in America will not require either a bachelors degree from a four-year college or an associate degree from a community college. 17、d yet we educators and most parents- keep giving all kids the impression that without a college degree, they will be on a slippery slope to being forgotten and poor. In fact, for the majority of jobs, what will be needed even more than the subject matter we teachers think is so essential will be wha

The report “Are They Really Ready to Work.“ put out by the Partnership for 21st Century Skills and the Society for Human Resource Management, found that the four skills most prized by employers were a work ethic, an ability to collaborate with others, facility in oral commu
