20、, Ltd. F: That was a big step. And how has this company developed since then? M: Well, I began selling to the drinks industry. Our suppliers began developing excellent new machines that were technically more advanced than our competitors. These machines helped us to expand into the food and pharmace

21、utical industries. And our sales people were very good at understanding and selling these new machines so Sunnypack got a name for delivering excellent products and providing a service that was fair to both customers and suppliers. Since then turnover has grown to nearly $10 million a year and our c

22、ustomers now include companies such as Smithkline Beechan. We moved into these new offices in 2005 and at the moment were looking for new staff to help the company grow further. F: Great. And the future? How do you see the future? M: I think technical development is the key to industry. Companies ha

23、ve to produce and pack more and more specialized goods to satisfy their customers. So, in the future, our suppliers will have to develop their machines technically but without losing any reliability. Our job, of course, is going to sell these new machines and continue to provide the best possible su

Id like to present the trends over the last ten years and also anticipate the trends we predict over the next ten years. Im not going to take long - just long enough to give you an overview of developments so

On this first transparency youll see two pie charts - the first represents the milk product market ten years ago, the second, how it looks now.

27、There are two outstanding features: firstly, the total market has grown substantially from 280 million litres to 440 million litres; secondly, the actual sector share of the. tour main milk products has changed radically; the full milk sector has fallen dramatically from 74% to just 53% - here on th

28、e pie chart; the skimmed milk sector has rocketed from only 12% to 40% , reflecting the weight of publicity directed towards low fat diets. The other two sectors are long life milk and milk drinks. Its interesting to see that the long life sector has risen from 5% to 13% - a significant rise conside

29、ring initial consumer resistance to this type of milk. And finally, the milk drinks have remained pretty stable, just increasing by 1%. So the two big winners of the decade are skimmed milk and long life milk. Now, whats really important is the likely trends over the next ten years in these four sec

30、tors. If you look at this graph you will see the same trends I just outlined for the four sectors. Beyond this line weve plotted the anticipated trends over the next ten years. We forecast that the full milk sector will decline more gradually over the next five years to around 40% and then fall a fu
