12、KING OF SERVICEABBLE RITNWAYS AND TAXIWAYS 1. GDERAL. The provisions contained herein, extracted from AFR 91-17, are the standard specifications for marking materials, and prescribe Air Force and Air National Guard policy for the marking and re-marking of serviceable runways and taxiways at all Air
13、Force and Air National Guard installations. 2. DEVIATIONS. Prior approval of Headquarters, United States Air Force, and the Chief, National Guard Bureau, is required for markings other than those specified herein. 3. GEXERAL REQUIREMENTS. Nl compliance with the standards outlined herein is required
14、when runways and taxiways are to be marked or re-marked. Air Force Commanders of major air commands and the Chief, National Guard Bureau, have been delegated authority to determine the degree to which markings will be applied. 4. DETAL RIQUIRI3ENTS. a. Standard. The standard to be used in the markin
15、g and re-marking of serviceable runways and taxiways is set forth in the National Standard for the Marking of Serviceable Runways and Taxiways, dated 26 August 26 August 1960, contained in EM 1110-3-314 and AFR 91-17. 1960, approved by the Air Coordinating Committee on b. Marking Materials. Paint us
16、ed for the marking and re-marking of airfieid runways and taxiways will conform to the following specifications: (i) Runways. Relfective white paint, see Interim Federal Specification TT-P-mnD) , Paint Reflective for Airfield Runway Marking (Drop-In-Type) 23 September i959 with Amendment 1 dated 4 F
17、ebruary i960 and TT-G-00490 (Navy-WS) , Granules Reflectorized, 15 January 1960. (2) Taxiways. Nonreflective ye;low paint shall consist of the pigmented binder (paint)covered by Specification TT-P-0085 (DOD) as amended. c. Application of Marking Materials Painted marking will be applied t paved area
18、s only after the pavements have been allowed to cure thoroughly. and clean prior to painting. When applying painted markings to rigid pave- ments that have been cured with a membrane-type curing compound, the curing compound must be thoroughly cleaned from the surf and to prevent undue softening of

The provisions contained herein govern the initial marking ard remarking of all deceptive, closed and hazard areas on airports at

Air Force, and the Chief, National Guard Bureau, is required for marking other than those specified herein. 3. EXCEPTIONS. Commanders of major Air Comnds and the Chief, National Guard Bureau, are
23、 authorized to waive the provisions of these instructions for installations where the presence of highly conspicuous markings would compromise established USAF security policy.
