2、 Federal agencies. 1. SCOPE AND CLASSIFICATION 1.1 Scope. thetic rubber. 14、 Philadel- phia, Pa., 19103,) 3. REQUIFiIW2ES 3.1 Hateriala. 3.1.1 Rubber. The rubber used in making the adhesive shall be first quality smoked sheet, pale crepe, or fine Para. The rubber shall be milled or plasticized only enough to produce good brushing properties, 1.cdifying resins may be added t
15、o the extent that the other requirements of this specification are met (Gee 4.2.1). 3.1.2 Solvent. 3.0.2.1 Type I adhesive. The solvent for type I adhesive shall be naphtha conforming to the distil- lation requirements in table 1 and shall be free of any sulfur or sulfur compound when tested as spec
16、ified in 4.5.l and 4.5.2. confoming to the distillation requirements in table I and shall be free of any sulfur or sulfur compound hfion tested as specified in 4.5,l and 4.5.2. 3.1.2.2 Type II adhesive. 18、977774 0006778 7 3.2 Total nonvola6ile content. 3.2.1 Type I adhesive. The total nonvolatile content of type I adhesive shall be at least six-percent of the total weight of the adhesive when tested as specified in 4.5.3. 3.2.2 Type II adhesive. The total nonvolatile content of type II adhesive shall
19、 be no less than 12- percent of the total weight of the adhesive when tested as specified in 4.5.3. 3.2.3 Acetone extract of solid components. The acetone extract of the solid components shall be not greater than 2.8 percent, by weight, of the adhesive when tested as specified in 4.5.4. 3.3 Consiste
20、ncy. The adhesive shall spread easily with a spatula or brush and shall dry to a smooth uniform tacky film. and not tend to draw itself together and, it shall be free of lumps, ridges,. or streaks (see h.$s). 23、ion, Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the suppliermay utilize his own facilities or any commercial laboratory accep- table to the Government

The Government reserves the right to perform any of the Inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to specified requirements. 4.1.1 Objective evidence. The supplier shall provide objective evidence acceptable
