SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the parts assembly for one type of warhead, designated as Warhead, For Demolition Kit, M180. 2. Materials and parts shall be in accordance with applicable drawings and specifications. 3.2 Magnetic particle inspection of nose. T

7、he nose shall not exhibit any evidence of cracks. 3.3 Hardness of nose. The nose shall exhibit a Rockwell Hardness ?C? range of 36 to 40. 3.4 Load test of warhead shell assembly. When assembled, the warhead shell assembly, Drawing (Dwg. 9324934) shall withstand an axial Load of 8,000 pounds in the l

8、ongitudinal direction without rupture or permanent deformation to either the flange or the warhead shell. 3.5 First article inspection. This specification contains technical provisions for first article inspection. Requirements for the submission of first article samples by the contractor shall be a

All parts and assemblies shall be fabricated and finished in a thorough workmanlike manner, and all manufacturing, p

10、rocessing, and assembly operations shall be correctly performed. They shall be clean and free of burrs, sharp edges, unblended radii, surface defects, chips, dirt, grease and oil (except where specifically required), corrosion products and other foreign matter, The cleaning method used shall not be

11、injurious to any part or assembly nor shall they be contaminated by the cleaning agent. Exterior surface * coatings shall be continuous except for a few light scratches not exposing base material. 14、The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.1 using test equipment in accordance with 4.4.4. Any nose which fails to comply with the requirements of 3.3 shall be classified defective and removed from the lot. 4.4.3.2 Load test of warhead shall assembly. The test shall be performed as specified i

15、n 4.5.2 using test equipment - in accordance with 4,4.4. with the requirements of 3.4 shall be classified defective and removed from the lot, Any assembly which-fails to comply 4.4.3.3 Magnetic particle inspection of nose. The test shall be performed as specified in 4.5.3 using test equipment in acc

16、ordance with 4.4.4. Any nose which fails to comply with the requirements of 3.2 shall be classified defective and removed from the lot. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The inspection equipment required to perform the inspections and tests prescribed in this specification is identified in the Paragraph R

17、eference/ Inspection Method column in the tables starting with paragraph 4.4.2.1, and the test method paragraphs (See 4.5). The contractor shall submit for approval, inspection equipment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-48078, and 6.3 herein. 4.5 Test meth

18、ods and procedures 4.5.1 Hardness of nose. The nose shall be tested for hardness in accordance with MIL-H-6875. (Non-destructive test) Parts so tested may be returned to the lot. 4.5.2 Load on warhead shell assembly. A longitudinal load shall be placed on the warhead shell assembly. Observation shal

19、l be made for rupture or permanent deformation to the flange or shell. (Non-destructive test), Parts so tested may be returned to the lot. 4.5.3 Magnetic particle inspection of nose. The magnetic particle inspection of the nose shall be performed as specified in MIL-1-6868. A water washable fluoresc

20、ent penetrant shall be applied to the surface of the nose. After removal of the excess penetrant, the surface shall be inspected by means of black light. Any nose which does not meet the specified requirements shall be classified defective. (Non-destructive) Parts so tested may be returned to the lo
