SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers one type of elbow telescope known as Telescope, Elbow: M114. This telescope is primarity intended to
2、lay the 105MM Howitzer M102 in direct fire. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 The following documents, of the issue in effect on date of invita- tion for bids or request for proposal, form a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Materials.- Materials shall be in accordance with drawings, material specifications, and general specifications forming a part of this specification. 3.2 Fabrication,- The telescope shall
7、 be fabricated in accordance with Drawing F8626440 “Telescope, Elbow M114,“ and drawings pertaining thereto. 3.3 General specifications.- The contractor shall be responsible for adherence to and compliance with the following requirements of Specifications MIL-0-13830 and MIL-F-13926. 3.3.1 MIL-0-138

9、ermally stabilized at ambient temperatures of -80“ and +160“F. Upon return to a standard ambient temperature of 60“ to 90“F, the telescope shall show no evidence of physical failure and shall meet the following requirements of this specification. 3.4.2 Operating temperatures.- The telescope shall be
10、 exposed and thermally stabilized at ambient temperatures of -40“ and +150“F. thermal stabilization at each of the above temperatures, the telescope shall meet the applicable requirements of 3.9. 11、,-,-MIT-T-46385A L2 973790b 03LLb00 b m 3.5 Vibration.- The telescope shall be vibrated at a constant frequency of 30 cycles per second with an amplitude of 1/16 inch (1/8 inch total ex- cursion) for a period of 5 minutes f 15 seconds. Subsequent to vibration, the telescope shall show no evidence of
12、 damage or physical failure and shall meet the requirements of 3.6 to 3.10 inclusive. 3.6 Cleanliness.- The telescope shall meet the cleanliness requirements of Specification HIL-0-13830, and there shall be no more than two particles of dirt visible on the surfaces of the sliding reticle, and no mor
13、e than two particles of dirt visible on the surfaces of the reticle lens (a total quantity of four particles on both optical elements). be in excess of an area equivalent to a size ten dig. dirt on other surfaces which interferes with observation or adversely effects image quality. The interior atmosphere of the accepted telescope shall contain nitrogen (dewpoint of nitrogen shall be at least as low as -25OF)
15、at a pressure of between 0.1 and 0.25 psig. 3.8 Accuracy. 3.8.1 Orientation.- With the telescope mounted on the front mounting surface and the rear angular locating surface of the objective tube housing, the plane of the objective tube and the locating key shall be horizontal. 3.8.2 Collimation. 3.8
16、.2.1 Reticle lens.- The extreme left and- right zero graduations shall coincide with a horizontal target line 20 mils above the geometric axis of the objective tube with 40.5 mil. ballistic data on the reticle lens shall be 36.5 mils 5 3 mils in azimuth from the boresight cross of the sliding reticl
17、e at the zero elevation position. The vertical line of the HEXM482 3.8.2.2 Sliding reticle.- With the telescope positioned as in 3.8.1 and the horizontal line of the boresight cross in coincidence with the zero graduation on the extreme right, the horizontal line shall be in coincidence with the zer
18、o graduation on the extreme left with 0.2 mil; the line of sight through the boresight cross shall be parallel in azimuth to the geometric axis of the objective tube within 0.5 mil. 3.8.3 Eyepiece focus.- The eyepiece focus shall be adjustable over the range of plus and minus four diopters as read o
19、n the diopter scale. The zero of the diopter scale shall indicate zero diopters within 0.25 diopter. 3.8.4 Reticle accuracy.- The angular values, between the zero and maximum scale graduations for each of the three scales on the reticle lens shall be as indicated on the applicable drawings within 3.

21、.8.6 Reticle shift.- Changing the direction of rotation of the reticle knob shall not cause the horizontal line of the boresight cross to exceed the tolerance specified in 3.8.2.2; nor shall cause the boresight cross to shift in azimuth in excess of 0.05 mil. 3.8.7 Resolution.- The resolution on the
22、 optical axis shall be five seconds of arc or less. 3,8.8 Reticle plumb travel.- With the telescope positioned as in 3.8.1, the line of sight through the boresight cross of the sliding reticle shall track a plumb line within plus or minus 0.5 mil, (total lateral spread not to exceed 0.5 mil) when th
23、e reticle is depressed by rotation over an excursion of 60 mils, as read on the mil scale of the reticle lens. 3.8.9 Parallelsim of reticle and image.- With the telescope positioned as in 3.8.1, the vertical line of the mil scale shall be parallel to the image of the plumb line within 30 minutes. 3.
24、8.10 Parallax.- With the boresight cross positioned with 2.0 mils of the optical axis, parallax at the boresight cross shall not exceed 0.25 mil between 125 yards and infinity. 3.9 Operability.- The running torque required to rotate the diopter adjustment and the reticle knob shall not exceed the va
