3、ENGINE GENERATOR: SOLID STATE 28 VOLT, DUAL CURRENT LIMIT, DIRECT CURRENT This specification is approved for use by U.S. Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command, Department of the Army, and is available for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This

4、 specification covers a solid state regulator utilizing electronic devices, to regulate the voltage, control the reverse current, and limit the current of the 28 volt (V), 300 ampere (A), direct current (dc) generator. 2. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable

18、laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 First article. When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.4. 3.2 Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein, in applicable standards and specific

19、ations, and on applicable drawings. Materials not specifically designated shall be suitable for use in the regulator operating over an ambient temperature range -65 to 215 degrees Fahrenheit (F) (-53 to 101 degrees Celsius (C) without any change in physical or dimensional properties while meeting al

20、l performance and environmental requirements of this specification (see 4.5.4.1). 3.2.1 Hazardous materials. Asbestos, cadmium, and radioactive material (see 6.3.4) shall not be used in this item. 21、RF-62528B(AT) 4 3.2.2 Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials. Recycled, recovered, or environmentally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements, and promotes econom

22、ically advantageous life cycle costs. 3.3 Environmental conditions. 3.3.1 High temperature. The regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.1, 3.9.2, 3.9.5 through 3.9.7, 3.9.9, and 3.9.10, when exposed to temperatures up to 220F (104C); the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.2, except th

23、e regulated voltage shall be 26.5 0.7 V. After exposure, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.1, 3.9.2, 3.9.4a through d, and 3.9.5 (see 4.6.4.1). 3.3.2 Low temperature. The regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.1, 3.9.2, 3.9.5 through 3.9.7, 3.9.9, and 3.9.10, after storage at te

24、mperatures down to -80F (-62C) and during exposure to temperatures down to -65F (-54C). The regulator shall also meet the requirements of 3.9.2, except that the regulated voltage shall be 29.5 0.7V. Subsequently, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.1, 3.9.2, 3.9.4a thru d; and 3.9.5 (se

25、e 4.6.4.2). 3.3.3 Vibration. When tested as specified in 4.6.4.5, the regulator shall evidence no breakage, loosening of parts, abrasion, or other physical damage. Subsequent to the test, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.1, 3.9.2, 3.9.4, and 3.9.5. 3.3.4 Shock. When tested as specifi

26、ed (see 4.6.4.6), the regulator shall evidence no breakage, loosened or distorted parts, or other physical damage. Subsequent to the test, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.1, 3.9.2, 3.9.4, and 3.9.5. 3.3.5 Corrosion resistance. The regulator shall have corrosion resistance equal or b

27、etter than 1020 steel sheet, galvanized with a minimum 0.75 mil zinc coating, zinc phosphate pretreatment, epoxy prime paint and CARC top coat. No servicing, adjustment or replacement parts shall be necessary (see 4.6.4.4). 3.3.6 Fungus resistance. The regulator shall not support microbial growth th

28、at would adversely affect performance (see 4.6.4.3). 3.3.7 Waterproofness. The regulator shall meet the waterproofness requirements in accordance with 4.6.4.7. Subsequent to exposure, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.2. 3.4 Weight. The regulator weight shall be no more than 18.5 poun

29、ds (lbs) (8.39 kilograms (kg) (see 4.6.2). 3.5 Design. Provided by IHSNot for ResaleNo reproduction or networking permitted without license from IHS-,-,-MIL-PRF-62528B(AT) 5 3.5.1 Polarity. The regulator shall be designed to operate with a negative-grounded, electrical system, and shall be internall

30、y case grounded (see 4.5.4.1). 3.5.2 Electromagnetic interference suppression. Electromagnetic interference generated within the regulator shall be suppressed within the regulator housing (see 4.5.4.1). 3.5.3 Configuration. The regulator fabricated in accordance with this specification shall have ex

31、ternal dimensions that fall within the envelope outline of Drawing 12333040. Electrical connectors and mounting dimensions shall also conform to the detail requirements of this drawing. Contact designation shall be in accordance with figure 1 (see 4.5.4.2). 3.6 Construction and hardware. 3.6.1 Dissi

32、milar metals. Except where necessary to complete an electrical circuit, contact between dissimilar metals which would encourage galvanic action shall be avoided. Separation of dissimilar metals shall be accomplished by providing insulation between mating surfaces (see 4.5.4.1). 3.6.2 Standard parts.

33、 Military standard parts shall be used wherever possible (see 4.5.4.1). 3.7 Reliability. Quantitative reliability numbers are to be determined by Government reliability engineers prior to finalizing the contract (see 6.2). 3.8 Endurance. The temperature stabilized regulator (see 6.3.1) shall be capa

34、ble of withstanding the endurance load cycles specified herein for a total of 1100 hours. Subsequently, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.3.7 and 3.9.1 through 3.9.6 (see 4.6.4.9). 3.9 Performance characteristics. 3.9.1 Reverse current. The reverse current shall not exceed 30 millampere

35、s (mA) when measured between the regulator and the batteries (see 4.6.1.1.1). 3.9.2 Voltage regulation. When pin E of the battery connector is not connected to ground, the regulator shall establish and maintain regulated voltage per figure 8 throughout the generator speed range of 2350 to 8160 revol

36、utions per minute (rpm) with load current from battery only to 350 A. With pin E of the battery connector connected to ground, the regulator shall establish and maintain regulated voltage per figure 8 throughout the generator speed range of 3000 50 rpm with load current from battery only to 150 A. T

37、he fundamental frequency of the voltage waveform shall be greater than 100 Hertz (Hz). The regulator shall re-establish and maintain a regulated voltage within the time and voltage limits indicated on figure 2. Overshoot and undershoot limits shall conform to limits on figure 2. For load currents ab

38、ove 350 A with load increased to 400 A and with pin E of the battery terminal ungrounded, the regulated voltage shall be equal to or less than that measured at 350 A. 39、S-,-,-MIL-PRF-62528B(AT) 6 E of the battery connector grounded, the regulated voltage shall be equal to or less than that at 150 A (see 4.6.1.1.2). 3.9.3 Voltage ripple. The regulator output voltage waveform shall have the following limitations: with batteries disconnected, the alternating current (

40、ac) peak to peak ripple voltage shall be no more than 7 V with pin E of the battery connector both grounded and ungrounded. With batteries connected, the peak to peak ripple voltage shall be no greater than 4 V, except that excursions of less than 1 millisecond (ms) may exceed 4 V (see 4.6.1.1.3). 3

41、.9.4 Current limit. The regulator shall provide current control per figure 9 and as specified below (see 4.6.1.1.4): a. With pin E of the regulator battery connector grounded, the regulator shall limit the generator output to 195 15 A throughout the operating ambient temperature range of -65 to 220F

42、 (-53 to 104C), and a generator speed of 3000 rpm. b. With pin E of the regulator battery connector grounded, the regulator-generator system shall produce no less than 150 A output current within the temperature adjusted voltage regulation range at a generator speed of 3000 rpm. c. With pin E of the

43、 battery connector ungrounded, the regulator shall limit the generator output to 400 20 A throughout the operating ambient temperature range of -65 to 220F, and a generator speed of 5500 rpm. d. With pin E of the battery connector ungrounded, the regulator-generator system shall produce no less than

44、 350 A within the temperature adjusted voltage regulation range at a generator speed of 5500 rpm. e. The regulator shall attain stable current regulation in the current limit mode within 0.3 second of load application as shown in figure 3. f. The regulator shall attain stable voltage regulation upon

45、 load release within 0.3 second after entering the lower voltage regulation limit of 27.3 V as shown in figure 3. g. In the current limit mode, the frequency of oscillation of the dc voltage shall have a period of less than 14 ms (see t in figure 3) and a peak-to-peak value (see v in figure 3) of le

46、ss than 10 percent of the dc voltage. 3.9.5 Overvoltage. The regulator shall incorporate an overvoltage protection scheme to protect the regulator-generator system from any failure in the regulator which will cause the regulator to be turned “full on.” The overvoltage portion of the regulator shall

47、deactivate the generator when the system voltage reaches a value of 33 1 V. Overvoltage reaction time shall be not less than 0.25 second and not more than 1 second. This criteria shall be met with pin E of the battery connector both grounded and ungrounded. Reset shall be manual and located on the r

48、egulator (see 4.6.1.1.5). 3.9.6 Field excitation. The regulator shall be activated and begin to regulate when the generator residual voltage increases above 0.7 V with pin E of the battery connector both grounded and ungrounded (see 4.6.1.1.6). The regulator shall be protected against any inductive energy that may be applied as a result of opening switch S1 shown in figure 4. Subsequently, the regulator shall meet the requirements of 3.9.2 (see 4.6.1.1.7). 3.9.8 Negative voltage operation. The regulator shall not be damaged by the applic
