This specification establishes the requirements for manufac- ture and acceptance of the FMU-140/B Dispenser Proximity Fuze, referred to herein as the “fuze“. 2. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this speci- fication shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, shal
12、l supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained . 3. REQUIREMENTS. 3.1 Item description. mission, radio frequency arming, and operating in The fuze shall be a self-powered, active single- (RF), radar altimeter device capable of safing, a high electronic coun
13、termeasures (ECM) environ- ment and capable of providing a proximity or time function mode for dispenser weapons. 3.2 Characteristics. 3 . 2.1 Performance. 3.2.1.1 Mechanical. 3.2.1.1.1 Fuze initiation, The axial pull force of 125 510 pounds wire that is connected to the fuze fuze shall initiate (se

The time function mode shall be selected when an axial pull force of 125 510 pounds is applied to the option arming wire in conjunction with fuze initiation (see 3.2.1.1.1). 3 Licensed

The fuze shail have an air velocity sen- sor which prevents arming at velocities less than 160 knots calibrated airspeed (KCAS) and allows arming at velocities greater than 225 KCAS. 3.2.1.1.4 Seal inte
16、grity. When the fuze is pressurized and immersed in alcohol, there shall be no evidence of leakage as indicated by a steady stream of gas bubbles for an observation period of 30 seconds minimum. A steady stream of gas bubbles is defined as the lornation of a bubble at the fuze prior to the last bubb
17、le reaching the surface of the alcohol. 3.2.1.1.5 Explosive output. The fuze shall provide an explosive output which will create a dent of not less than 0.032 inch depth in a dent block (see 6.3.7). 3.2.1.1.6 Operating life. The fuze operating life shall be not less than 60 seconds after fuze initia
18、tion (see 3.2.1.1.1). 3.2.1.2 Electrical. 3.2.1.2.1 Proximity function mode. The proximity function mode shall be selected by pulling only the fuze arming wire. 3.2.1.2.1.1 Arm time. The arm times from fuze initiation to the arm pulse shall be in accordance with Table I. 3.2.1.2.1.2 Height of functi
19、on (HOF). 3.2.1.2.1.2.1 Primary HOF. The fuze shall have 10 manually-selectable HOF settings as specified in Table II. 3.2.1.2.1.2.2 Alternate HOF. The fuze shall provide the output of 3.2.1.1.5 between the primary HOF and 250 feet. 3.2.1.2.1.3 Loop loss sensitivity. When operated in an environment
20、that simulates a closing velocity of 1,200 +loo, -0 feet per second (fps), the loop loss (see 6.3.2) that causes the output of 3.2.1.1.5 to occur shall not be less than 122 decibels (dB) except after exposure to the environmen- tal conditions of 3.2.2, the minimum loop loss shall be 120 dB. 3.2.1.2.
21、1.4 Operating frequency (fl, f2). The operating frequencies are defined in Appendix I and are provided under separate cover. 3.2.1.2.1.5 ECM immunity. 3.2.1.2.1.5-1 ECM high level immunity, The application of a swept con- tinuous wave (CW) jamming signal from fi - 10 megahertz (MHz) to fi + 10 MHz a
