2、and is available for x- -? Defense. J P 1.1 Scope. This specification covers Cartridge, 9MM, Ball, Reference to be used for calibration purposes in 9mm cartridge acceptance testing equipment. 2. APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS 2.1 Government documents. 2.1.1 Specifications and standards. The following specific
3、ations and standards form a part of this specification to the extend specified herein. Unless otherwise specified, the issues of these documents shall be those listed in the issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) and supplement thereto, cited in the solicit

11、.) 2.2 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, (except for associated detail specifications , specifications sheets or MS standards) the text of this specification shall take precedence, Nothing in this specification how
12、ever, shall supersede applicable laws and regulation unless a specific exemption has been obtained. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Material. Materials shall be in accordance with the applicable drawings and specifications. 3.1. Parts. The parts shall comply with all requirements specified on Dwg. 12556029, all
13、 associated drawings, and with all requirements specified in applicable specifications. 3.3 Bullet extraction. The average force necessary to extract the bullet from the cartridge case shall be not less than 80 lbs, nor shall any individual extraction force be less than 60 lbs -t a- - Provided by IH

The cartridge case shall not split when subjected to one percent mercurous nitrate solution for 15 minutes. 3.5 Velocity. The average velocity
15、of the cartridges when conditioned at 210 + 20 Centigrade (C) shall be 375 meters per second (m/sec) plusor minus 15 m/sec at a point 16 meters from the muzzle. The standard deviation of the velocities shall not exceed 5 m/sec. a 2% I 3.6 Chamber pressure. The average peak chamber pressure of the ca
16、rtridge at the case mouth position when conditioned at 21OC + 20C shall not exceed 215 Megapascals (MPa) and no indivrdual peak pressure shall exceed 250 MPa. The standard deviation of the sample cartridges shall not exceed 10 MPa. 3.7 Function and casualty. The cartridge shall function without casu
17、alty. 3.8 Waterproof. When placed under water and subjected to a one half atmosphere negative pressure for 30 seconds, the cartridge shall not release more than one bubble of air. 3.9 Workmanship. The requirements for workmanship are as specified on the applicable drawings, referenced specifications
18、 and the following: 3.9.1 Metal defects. The cartridge shall be free of folds, wrinkles, deep draw scratches, scaly metal, dents and other defects . 3.9.2 Foreiqn matter. The cartridge shall be free of corrosion, stains, discoloration, dirt, oil, and smears of lacquer . a 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVIS
19、IONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any commercial lab
20、oratory acceptable to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to perscribed requirements. The provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply. 4.1.1 Re
21、sponsibility for compliance. All items must meet all requirements of sections 3 and 5. The inspection set forth in this specification shall become a part of the contractors overall inspection system or quality program. The absence of any inspection requirement in the specification shall not relieve

Sampling in quality conformance does not authorize submission of known defective material, either indicated or actual, nor does it commit the Government to acceptance of any defective material. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The inspection requirements specified herein are
24、 classified as follows: a. Quality Conformance Inspection (See 4.3) 4.3 Quality conformance inspection. 4.3.1 Lot formation. In accordance with MIL-A-48078. 403.1.1 Lot submission. The product shall be submitted in accordance with MIL-STD-105. The entire lot of reference cartridges shall be assemble
