PAGE 21 5: Delete Section 5 in its entirety and substitute the following: “5. PACKAGING 5.1 Preservation and Packauinu. 5.1.1 Level A. 5.1.1.1 O

3、ption A. NSN: (SPI/TPO) 1375-01-057-6439-M131. 5.1.1.1.1 Unit package. Place ten (10) caps in a folding box conforming to PPP-B-566, Variety Ir Style II, Type D, Class A (size 1 7/8 inches by 3/4 inches by 2 1/2 inches). The caps shall be separated in a 5 x 2 pattern using half slotted die-cut or fo

4、lded inserts that provide individual cells made from chipboard, conforming to UU-C-282 or equivalent. The box shall be closed by applying a strip of tape conforming to UU-T-106, 1 inch wide by 2 inches long, across the top and bottom of the carton. Enclose each box (10 caps) in a barrier bag conform

Place five (5) unit packs (bags) in a waterproof bag conforming to MIL-B-117, Style 2, Type 1, Class B or equivalent. Exhaust all air and heat seal in accordance with MIL-P-116. 5.1.1.1.3

7、 Exterior package. Place two (2) bags (100 caps) into a fiberboard box (PPP-B-636 VC3 Size 8 x 8 x 14 inches I.D.). Cushion between the intermediate pack and exterior fiberboard box with one inch thick (minimum) polypropylene Type 1, PPP-C-1797 or equivalent material. Add filler(s)/ pad(s) as requir

8、ed to obtain a tight pack. Place fiber box in a wooden box PPP-B-621 (size 8 1/2 x 8 1/2 x 14 7/8 inches I.D.). Close and seal box in accordance with PPP-B-621. 5.1.1.2 Option B. NSN: 1375-01-193-2976-M131. 5.1.1.2.1 Unit package. Place ten (10) caps in a folding paperboard box complete with half-sl

9、otted partitions or similar die-cut, folded or combination folded and die-cut inserts assembled to form individual cells or separations in a 5 x 2 pattern. The box and cells shall be constructed of minimum .O20 inch thick paperboard and shall conform to PPP-B-566, Style II, Variety I, Type A, Class

10、A, or shall conform to PPP-F-320, Type SF, either class (box size 1.6 x .75 x 2.5 inches). Place each box (10 caps) in a barrier bag conforming to MIL-B-117, Type I or II, Class F; exhaust all air from the bag and close by heat sealing in accordance with the requirements of MIL-P-116. 5.1.1.2.2 Inte

11、rmediate package. Place 24 unit packs between top and bottom cushions 10 inch by 3.12 inch by 1.25 inch thick PPP-C-1120, Type II, Class B, and add side fillers 9.5 inch by 6.25 inch and end fillers 6.25 inch by 3.25 inch PPP-F-320, Type CF, class domestic variety SW grade 175 to obtain a tight pack

12、. Add top fillers, 10.0 inch by 3.12 inch, as required in an M19A1 metal container. 5.1.1.2.3 Exterior package. Place two (2) M19Ai metal containers (480 caps) in a wooden box (MIL-B-2427, Type 2, Class 2, Grade A, Size 9.5 x 13.25 x 9.75 inches I.D.). An alternate plywood top and bottom (see 5.1.1.

13、2.3.1) may be used with a 1/2 inch thick top and 3/8 inch thick bottom using hardware fasteners of MS 35492-28 or MS 35494-32 or equivalent. Line the exterior wooden box with one inch thick (minimum) polypropylene (PPP-C-1797, Type 1, or equivalent between the exterior wooden box and the metal boxes

14、. Place a fiberboard separator (PPP-F-320, commercial grade, Size 3.75 x 11 x 7.125 inches) between the metal boxes.
