SCOPE AND CEASSIFICATION 1.1 m. “his specification covers diesel or gasoline engine driven, four-wheel, two-rear-wheel drive, truck chassis, trucks and truck tractors having minh grass vehicle weights (GVW) of 6350 to 9

3、530 kilograms (kg) (14,000 to 21,000 pounds), fop normal operating conditions. Vehicles procured der this specification are commercial items which are warranted by the manufacturer as specified in acquisition documents (for military contracts) or as specified in 6.5 through 6.5.4 (for civil agency c

4、ontracts). . 1.2 Classifscation The vehicle shall be one of the types and classes ., except type III stake dump :ruck, a trailer towing package shall be furnished. package snall consist of a pintle, safety chain attachment devices, a Lighting receptacle and associated reinforcements and wiring, and

37、clutch shall be provided. The fan clutch shall reduce the fan speed automatically when the fan is not required for engine cooling. The fan clutch shall be asbestos free. 3.4.1.8 -_xuhb! hnmq - When specified (see 6.2), silicone rubber radiator and heater hoses shall be furnished. * 3.4.1.9 -fu- When

38、 specified (see 6.2), a coo%an% heater, an engine oil heater, and fuel warmers (diesel engine driven vehicles only) shall be provided. Heaters shall operate on 110 volts alternating current; (ac), and shall be wired through a junction block, including a fuse or circuit breaker, to a single three-pro

39、nged (male), weatherproof, slave receptacle for receiving extemal power and grounding the vehicle. The receptacle shall be located on the streetaide of the vehicle, as near the cab door as practicable. A three-wire connecting cable, not leas than 7600 rnm (25 feet) long and of adequate line capacity

40、 to supply power for all heater units simultaneoualy, shall be furnished. Connecting cable shall include a matching female connector at the vehicle end and a standard, three-pronged (two powe plus one ground) male connector at the other end- Electrical apparatus shall conform to Federal Motor Carrie

41、r Safety Regulation 393.77(c)(?). The electrical insulation of the connecting cable shall withstand normal operating stresses in low ambient air temperatures (down to -51oC (-6ooP) without cracking or loss of dielectric capacity.
