3、l agencies. 1. SCOPE. 1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (CID) covers a lightweight portable grease interceptor. 1.2 Intended use. The grease interceptor is intended as a light weight portable unit that can be easily transported to military field feeding sites in support of field ware washi

4、ng operations, and located directly at the source of discharge. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Classification. The grease interceptors shall conform to the following types (see 7.1) : Type I - 15.GPM flow rate (30 pound grease capacity) Type II - 35 GPM flow rate (70 pound grease capacity) MSC N/A FSC 7330 P

The grease interceptor shall be made of high density polyethylene or polypropylene rigid plastic that can withstand tem

6、peratures up to 180F continuous use, and 212F intermittent use. The grease interceptor shall have an internal removable baffle separator unit (see 3.1.4) that causes greases, fats and oils to become separated and released from the waste water by means of a flotation process. The grease interceptor s

7、hall have a removable cover (see 3.1.3) that sits evenly on a 1 inch wide minimum Neoprene sponge gasket. The grease interceptor shall have two handle grips, located on the inlet and outlet end, to provide lifting ease. The grease interceptor shall be equipped with an inlet flow control fitting (see

8、 3.1.5), and with an outlet threaded cleanout plug. The flow control tee shall have a vent and air intake connection. A 30 inch vent pipe made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polypropylene(PP) threaded at one end for connection to the tee, shall be provided separately loose, and installed later by us

9、er to the tee. The grease interceptor shall remove 85 percent of the contaminant oils and greases from the waste water when performance tested as specified in 5.3. 3.1.1 Type I interceptor. Type I interceptor trap chamber shall have minimum inside dimensions of 16 inches in length by 14 inches in wi

10、dth by 18 inches high. 3.1.2 Typ e II interceptor. Type II interceptor trap chamber shall have minimum inside dimensions of 24 inches in length by 16 inches in width by 24 inches high. 3.1.3 Cover. The cover shall be the full size of the grease container, air-tight, secured to the body with camlocks

11、, or other suitable latching devices, and shall be easily unlatched and removed, and reinstalled. The latching devices shall distribute the force evenly on the cover at a minimum of four points(see figures 1 and 2). The cover shall be a minimum ?4 inch thick, and fabricated of high density polyethyl

12、ene or polypropylene. 3.1.4 Interior baffle. The interior baffle separator unit shall have a minimum of five baffles, and be easily removable to allow removal of the collected grease and fat from the container. To protect against corrosion and facilitate cleaning, the baffle separator unit shall be

13、fabricated of high density polyethylene or polypropylene as specified in 3.1. 8 3.1.5 Flow control. Each trap shall be provided with a flow control tee fitting. The flow control tee fitting shall contain an internal restrictor plate to reduce the flow rate through the trap to that specified for each

Bracing around the grease container shall be provided (see figure 2) for reinforcing the containe

15、r, and bracing the inlet and outlet connections. Bracing on the unit shall be fabricated of metal or % inch thick plastic (optional). The two ends of the unit shall have lift handles mounted to the bracing for lifting ease (see figures 3 and 4). 3.2.1 Bracing assembly (“Government unique“ requiremen

16、t see 7.4). The inlet tee and outlet assembly fittings of the container shall be adequately braced and supported (see figures 3 and 4) to prevent damage to the grease container inlet and outlet assembly fittings when transported. 3.3 Workmanship. The finished grease interceptor shall be free of hole

17、s, cracks, dents, malformation, or deep scratches. All burrs, slivers, splinters, sharp edges, dirt, grease, and foreign matter shall be removed. There shall be no defects affecting serviceability, durability, or appearance. 3.3.1 Welds. Welds shall be sound, smooth, and free from pits, fractures, b

18、urn through, or fissures. All scale or flux shall be removed. Spot welds shall be free of flashes. 3.3.2 Threaded connections. Threaded connections shall have tapered pipe threads. Threaded plugs or caps as applicable, shall be provided for all vent and cleanout connections. The inlet and outlet con

19、nections shall be capable of being connected to a 1 1/4 inch hose by means of quick disconnect cam lever action. A 1-1/2 inch female quick coupler with a 1-1/4 inch male hose adapter end, shall be provided separately loose. 3.4 Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be cons

20、idered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided they fall within the tolerances specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of IEEE/ASTM SI 10, and all other requirements of this CID are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions a

21、nd those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of t

23、he Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this commercial item description except for any Government unique requirement specified, shall conform to the producers own drawings, spec

24、ifications, standards and quality assurance practices, and be the same product that has been sold in the commercial marketplace, or is the same product that has successfully been delivered to the Government on a previous contract or purchase order. The Government reserves the right to require proof

25、of such conformance prior to first delivery and threafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5.1.1 Market acceDtability criteria. The following market acceptability criteria is necessary to document the quality of the product to be provided under this CID. a. The

26、company producing the item must have been producing a product meeting the requirements of this CID, except for Government unique requirements, in the commercial or government marketplace for at least 5 years. 5.2 Warrantv. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the manufacturers standard commer

27、cial warranty shall apply. 5.3 Performance test. The grease trap shall be tested in accordance with Plumbing and Drainage Institute Standard (PDI-G101) . The test * shall be conducted by an independent qualified water laboratory approved by the contracting officer. A certified test report or certifi

28、cate from the laboratory shall be sufficiently detailed to properly identify the manufacturer. A permanent label shall be placed on the trap cover to indicate PDI-G101 compliance, and the laboratory performing the work. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Packaging. Preservation, packing and marking requirements shall
