SCOPE. This

2、 CID covers wrecking balls intended for use in demolition operations. 2. CLASSIFICATION. The wrecking balls shall conform to the following sizes: Size 1 - 1500 pounds. Size 2 - 6000 pounds. 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Design and construction. The wrecking balls shall be designed and constructed i

3、n accordance with the manufacturers specifications for wrecking balls, unless otherwise specified herein. 3.2 Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein, materials used shall be in accordance with manufacturers materials specifications for wrecking balls. The materials shall be capable of meeting

4、all of the operational and environmental requirements specified herein. Asbestos, cadmium, and radioactive material will not be used in this item. Radioactive material is defined by Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 40, and other radioactive material in which the radioactivity is greater t

5、han 0.002 microcuries per gr distribution is unlimited. The use of dissimilar metals in intimate metal to metal contact shall be avoided. 3.2.2

6、 Composition. The wrecking balls shall be sound and free from defects and shall be constructed from the following materials: Size 1 - Gray cast iron conforming to ASTM A48, Class 40C, or equivalent. Size 2 - Cast steel conforming to ASTM A27, Grade 70,36, or equivalent. 3.2.3 Finish. The wrecking ba

7、lls shall have a smooth surface. 3.2.4 Weight. The weight tolerance for the wrecking balls shall be plus 10 percent and minus 5 percent. 3.2.5 Shape. The wrecking balls shall be constructed in the following shapes: Size 1 - Spherical shaped. Size 2 - Spherical or pear shaped, as specified in the con

8、tract order (see 7.3). 3.3 Lifting connection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract order (see 7.3), the wrecking bail shall be supplied with a lifting connection in accordance with manufacturers standards for iiftbg connections, suitable for normal operational use with the appropriate wreckin

9、g ball. 3.4 Interchangeabilitv. Emphasis shall be placed on dimensional tolerances. All parts having the same part number shall be capable of exchange without loss of functional or physical characteristics. 3.5 Identification marking. Wrecking balls shall be legibly marked near the lifting connectio

10、n by either casting or die-stamping. The markings shall include, at a minimum, the Part Identifying Number (PIN), the weight of the wrecking ball, and the manufacturers identification (see 7.1 and 7.3). 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use r

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Responsibilitv fo

12、r inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections and tests. 5.2 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this CID, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, and be t

13、he same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance. 6. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing and marking shall be as specified in the contract or purchase order (see 7.3). 7. NOTES (This section contains information of a gener

Issue of the Department of Defense Index of Specifications and Standards (DoDISS) to be cited in the solicit

18、ation and, if required, the specific issue of individual documents referenced. c. PIN and quantity required. d. Shape of size 2 wrecking ball. e. Lifting connection, if otherwise than specified. f. Selection of applicable level and packaging requirements 7.4 Cross-referenced data. Wrecking balls con

19、forming to this CID are interchangeable/substitutable with wrecking balls conforming to MIL-PRF-23276D.
