SCOPE. This CID covers a 1041 liter

3、 (L) (275 gallon (gal) nominal capacity, horizontal, non-pressure type, above ground fuel oil storage tank. The tank is intended for unenclosed installation inside of buildings, primarily for the storage and supply of fuel oil for oil burners. Outdoor installation is not precluded. 2. SALIENT CHARAC

4、TERISTICS 2.1 Materials. Unless otherwise specified herein, materials shall be in accordance with the applicable requirements of Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., UL 80. The use of recovered material made in compliance with regulatory requirements is acceptable providing that ail requirements of this

5、 CID are met (see 3.1). 2.1.1 -ade steel . The tank shall be constructed of commercial grade steel having a less than 1.70 millimeter (mm) (0.067 inches (in) and for galvanized steel, 1.78 mm (0.070 in). - carbon content of 0.25 percent or less. The minimum thickness of uncoated steel shall be not r

The tank shall be fabricated in accordance with the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Inc., UL 80. The tank shall have the form as shown in Figure 1. 12 in (300 mm) ft9 in 40

8、 837 A-A-52600 2.2.2 Shell seams. Welding shall be of the continuous or lap type. AU lap welds shall have a continuous full et the length of the seam. 2.2.3 Mounting brackets. Two 100 by 100 by 6.4 mm (4 by 4 by 0.25 in) steel angle brackets 100 mm (4 in) long shall be welded, with a continuous fidl

9、 fiilet weld, on each side of the tank. The brackets shall be located 15 mm (6 in) from the ends of the tank. Each bracket shall be drilled and tapped for a 32 mm (1.25 in) pipe leg. 2.2.4 Fill. vent and gauge openinas. Not less than three threaded openings shall be provided in the top of the tank f

10、or connection of fiil and venting piping, and for installation of a liquid level gauge. Au openings on the top of the tank shaii be equal in size and not less than a nominal 50 mm (2 in) pipe size. 2.2.5 Top piPe connections. Stamped or forged steel pipe connections shall be furnished by welding thr

11、eaded flanges to the tank openings. The connections shall be in accordance with the requirements of Underwriters Laboratories Inc., (VL) 80. 2.2.6 Burner supplv connection. A threaded opening not less than 13 mm (0.50 in) pipe size shall be provided in the bottom of the tank shell for connection of

12、piping supplying fuel to the oil burner. The center of this opening shall be located not more than 75 mm (3 in) from the end of the shell, and the opening shad be without internai projections to permit complete drainage. A burner supply connection shaU not be located in a head. 2.2.7 Treatment and p

13、ainting;. The parts of the tank normally painted shall be cleaned, treated and painted in accordance with the contractors commercial practice. Unless otherwise specified in the contract, the fnish coat shall be camouflage green. 2.2.8 Identification marking number. Each tank shall be marked with the

14、 manufacturers or private labelers name or identwg symbol. This marking shall be embossed, etched or stamped on a metal nameplate that is permanently attached by welding or brazing. Ea mandacturer produces tanks at more than one factory, each tank shall have a distinctive marking to identify it as t

15、he product of a particular factory. In addition, identification marking shall include the mandacturers identification code (CAGE), manufacturers part number and the part identification number (PIN), A-A-52600 (see 6.2). 2.2.9 Installation marking. Each tank shall be permanently marked with the follo

16、wing: “For proper operation, (1) Upon installation pitch tank longitudinally, toward drain, at least 6.4 mm (0.25 in) per foot of tank length; (2) Vent pipe diameter must be at least equal to i pipe diameter. A signaling device installed in vent pipe shall not reduce venting capacity; and (3) Consul

17、t local authorities before installation of tank”. The required marking shail be ink- stamped or paint-stenciled on the tank, or printed on an adhesive-backed label. 18、 A contrasting background shall be provided for legibility. An adhesive-backed label shail comply with the applicable Underwriters Laboratories requirements for indoor use labels and exposure to No. 1 and No. 2 fuel oil. 22.10 Safety marking. The tank shail be stenciled in 50 mm (2 in) lusterless re

19、d letters on both sides of the tank “Flammable - Keep Fire Away”. 3. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Recovered materials. The offeror/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation FW. 4. QUALITY AS

20、SURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. The contractor is responsible for the performance of all inspections (examinations and tests). 4.2 Contractor cerification. The contractor shall ce* and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics o

21、f this CID and that the product confonns to the producers own drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quality assurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted for Government acceptance. The Govment reserves the right to require proof of such codormance prior to the r

22、st delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 5. PACKAGING. Preservation, packing, and marking shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 6. NOTES (This section contains information of a general or explanatory nature that may be help
