2、 A-A-52594 February 14.1996 SUPERSEDING MS39329 6 November 1968 COMMERCIAL ITEM DESCRIPTION DRILL ROD SECTION, ROCK DRILL FOR DRIFTER DRILLS The General Services Administration has authorized the use of this commercial item description (CID) for all federal agencies. 1. SCOPE. This CID covers a dril

3、l rod section for use with drifter drills. 2. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 2. I Materials. Unless specified herein, the materials used shall be in accordance with manufacturers materiais specification for drill rod. 2.2 Desim and construction. The drill rod section shall be in accordance with the require

4、ments of this CID and shall be the manufacturers standard commercial product (see Figure 1). Drill rod section nominal overall length shail be 12 feet (fi) (3.65 meters (m). Drill rod section outside diameter (OD) shall be not more than 1.5 inches (i) (3.8 centimeters (cm) and the aidwater passagewa

5、y shall be a nominal 0.5 in (1.27 cm) in diameter. Threaded portion shall be 1.5 in (38 cm) rope thread. Each end of the drill rod shall be threaded not less than 24 in (61 cm). Threads shall be turned at 90 degrees to centerline of the piece within 0.005 in (O. 13 millimeters (mm). Drill rod ends s

6、hall be square with thread within 0.005 in (0.13 mm). Drill rod comers shall be chamfered in accordance with good commercial practice. Full length of the rod shall be carburized inside and outside. REGULATORY REQUIREMENT. The offerorcontractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicabl

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. The c

11、ontractor is responsible for the performance of d inspection examinations and tests. 4.2 Contractor certification. The contractor shall certfi and maintain substantiating evidence that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this CID and that the product conforms to the producers ow

12、n drawings, specifications, workmanship standards, and quaiity assurance practices. Items with known defects shall not be submitted for government acceptance. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provide

13、d for under the provisions of the contract. 5. PRESERVATION, PACKAGING, PACKING, AND MARKING. Preservation, packaging, packing, and marking shd be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 6.
