2、es. 1. SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (CID) covers corrosion-resisting steel cooking utensils for use with field food service equipment. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Classification. The cooking utensils shall be of the following types, styles, and sizes as specified (see 7.1): Type I Typ
3、e II Type III - Food turner - Fork, food preparation, 2-tine - Spoon, food service, basting Style 1 Style 2 - Handle with hook - Handle with hole Size 1 Size 2 - 15 inches long - 21 inches long 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Construction. The utensils covered by this CID shall be made of 300 series
4、stainless steel conforming to ASTM A 240. The turner blade should be 4% inches long by 3% inches wide shall conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance prac
7、tices, and be the same product that has been sold in the commercial marketplace for over one year, or is the same product that has successfully been delivered to the Government on a previous contract or purchase order. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to f
8、irst delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. The company producing the item must have been producing a product meeting the requirements of this CID for at least 2 years. v b. The company must have sold 2000 items meeting this CID, in the commercial or govemment marketplace
10、over the past 2 years. 5.2 NSF Intemational standard comFliance. Prior to approval of the first shipment, the contractor shall submit satisfactory evidence to the contracting officer or his authorized representative that the items conform to the applicable requirements of NSF International Standard
11、No. 2. Acceptable evidence shall be a certified test report fiom a recognized independent testing laboratory acceptable to the medical authority of the service for which the items are being procured, stating that the items have been tested and conform to NSF International Standard No. 2. Acceptance
12、of the independent testing laboratory to the medical authority shall be based on the laboratory submitting to the contracting officer a written letter from either the American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (MLA), Gaithersburg, MD or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), Washin
13、gton, DC stating that the independent test laboratory has been evaluated and is accredited for testing and evaluating food service equipment for conformance with applicable NSF International Standards. Accreditation of the independent testing laboratory must be completed prior to the item testing. I
