The carrier shall have a maximum weight of 10.5 ounces. The design shall be as shown on U.S. Army Natick drawings 2-2-506, 2

10、-2-507, and 2-2-508. Webbing shall be sewn into the interior of the carrier at sections indicated on the government furnished patterns. The carrier shall have handle loops. 16、oose stitching will result. Stitch type 301 (lockstitch) in accordance with FED-STD-751 shall be used for all seams on the carrier. 1.6 Patterns. The govemnt shall furnish patterns for the carrier. The government patterns shall be used to make the contractors working patterns. The government pattern

17、s shall not be altered in any way. patterns may be modified to accamiodate automation; however, if the working patterns are modified, the design and measurements must be maintained as intended by government patterns. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substanti- ating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Camidercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers awn drawings, specifications, standads, a

20、nd quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. 2.3 Metric product. Products manufactured using metric units will be considered on an e

21、qual basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, provided that the product measurements fall within specified tolerances using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of FED-sID-376 and that all other requirements of this CID are met. 2.4 Defects. The mattax with carrier shall b

22、e examined for characteristics conforming to 1.1.1, 1.1.2, 1.1.3, and the following defects: md: Finish not smooth or not adherent; not clean; not free of burrs; arty rough surfaces, slivers, cracks; not cleaned as specified; not color specified; dimensions not as specified; blade not evenly sharpen

23、ed. Handle: Not clean; not free from chips, scrapes, paint streaks or drips, paint not adherent; not color specified; dimensions not as specified. Carrier: Any canponent part missing, distorted, or not as specified; any hole, cut, tear, mend or burn; any open seam; any bartack missing or misplaced;

24、any thread not as Specified; dimensions not as specified; not as specified in 1.1.3. 2.5 Hardness test. 10 using a lormi Tungsten carbide ball. head. If a mattax head has one or more surface cracks, the mattax head may be rmrked by grinding or buffing to eliminate the surface crack(s); but must maintain the overall weight, shape, and dimensional requirements. All reworked

32、 mattax heads shall be retested. acceptance shall have no surface cracks. 2.8 Fit examination. The components shall be assanbled as specified in 1.8 and examined for the follming defects: carrier too small, i.e., head fails to fit properly into carrier; carrier too big, shming excessive fullness or

33、wrinkles; more than 4 inches of handle above handle loop when inserted; handle not fitting properly into head; more than 1 inch of handle above top of head. In-process crack detection test.
