CLASSIFICATI

This commercial item description covers twine of the following types as specified (see 5.2): Type I - Waxed 32-, 60-, or 120-pound breaking strength Type II - Blocking 230- or 300-pound breaking strength 1.2 Part or identifying number (PIN). of items is included in section 5.

The twine shall be natural colored, and shall be fabricated from flax fiber processed to meet the requirements of this Commercial Item Description. Each package shall be labeled or ticketed for fiber content in accordance with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. 2.3 Put-uE. without knots or splices on 1 pound minimum net weight balls or tub

9、es. A plus or minus tolerance of 10 percent in weight will be permitted on any one holder provided that the average weight does not fall below the specified minimum. Each holder shall contain not more than three pieces, and no piece shall be less than 25 feet in length, or each holder shall contain

10、not more than two pieces with no minimum length applicable, The holders shall be wound so that each turn and layer is free from entanglement. 3. QUALITY ASSURANCE Unless otherwise specified (see 5.2), the twine shall be furnished 3.1 Certification. The contractor shall certify, and maintain substant

11、iating evidence, that the product offered meets the salient characteristics and requirements of this Commercial Item Description, and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices, conformance prior to first delivery and thereafte

12、r as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such, 3.2 Quality conformance inspection. Unless otherwise specified, sampling for inspection shall be performed in accordance with MIL-STD-105. 3.3 Visual examination, Each

14、n specified; any spot or stain clearly notice- able; color other than specified; type other than specified. The lot size shall be expressed in units of holders, and the sample unit shall be one holder. 4. PACKAGING 4.1 Tackaging. Twenty-four balls or tubes of twine, put-up as specified, shall be pac

15、kaged in a snug-fitting fiberboard box conforming to style RSC, type CF, class domestic, grade 200 of PPP-B-636. 4.2 Packing. Forty-eight balls or tubes of twine, packaged as specified, shall be packed in snug-fitting fiberboard shipping container conforming to style RSC, type CF, class domestic, gr

16、ade 275 of PPP-B-636. The shipping container shall be of a size palletizable in accordance with MIL-STD-147. 4.3 Palletization. When specified (see 5.2), twine packed as specified shal-1 be palletized in a 4-way entry pallet in accordance with load type Ia of MIL-STD-147. 4.4 Marking. purchase order

17、, interior packages, shipping containers, and palletized unit loads shall be marked in accordance with MIL-STD-129. In addition to any special marking required by the contract or 5.
