29、urinal: A plumbing fixture which is designed toreceive and convey only liquid waste through a trap seal intothe gravity drainage system without the use of water for suchfunction.water surface: The surface of the still water in the urinal bowlwhen filled to the trap weir.weir: A barrier in the trapwa

30、y of the urinal that controls thewater level in the bowl.well: A pocket open at top, formed inside a urinal bowl at theentrance to the trap.2. General requirements2.1 Materials2.1.1 Composition. The units shall be made of suitablecommercial grades of plastic resins and such other filling,coloring, r

31、einforcing and finishing materials as will meet theperformance requirements of this standard.2.1.2 Finish. The finished surface of the unit shall be of aquality which meets all of the applicable requirements of thisstandard. See Appendix I for common finishes defined.2.1.3 Supporting structure. The

32、material of thesupporting structure integral with the unit and its attachmentshall be adequate to meet the performance requirement of thisstandard.2.1.4 Alternate materials. When alternate materials areused as components within the plastic assembly, the materialsshall conform to applicable material

33、standards. They shallsatisfy this standard regarding quality, strength, effectiveness,durability and safety. They shall also be repairable orreplaceable within the plastic product.2.2 Dimensional requirements2.2.1 Dimensional tolerances. The finished trimdimensional tolerances for units shall be man

34、ufacturers stated“rough-in“ dimensions. A tolerance of 5% shall apply.2.2.2 Warpage. Fixtures shall not exceed the warpagetolerance specified in Section 5.7.2.2.3 Trap seal. The depth of seal for integral trap waterfed urinals shall be not less than 2 inches (50 mm).2.2.4 Minimum trapway dimension.

35、Urinals shall have atrapway which shall pass a minimum 3/4 inch (19 mm)diameter ball except where larger diameters are specified forcertain fixture types in Section 6.2.2.3 Selection of units for testing2.3.1 Units to be inspected and tested shall be fromfinished goods inventory.2.3.2 Flat samples.

36、If satisfactory flat specimens fortesting cannot be obtained from the unit being tested, flatsamples of the approximate thickness shall be provided by themanufacturer and certified as having been made from the samematerials and by the same process.2.4 Care and maintenance instructions. Each unit sha

37、ll besupplied with a removable copy of the manufacturers writtencare and maintenance instructions affixed to the unit in aconspicuous location. The instructions shall also state “To beremoved only by the occupant.“2.5 Identification. Each unit shall be permanently marked withthe manufacturers name,

38、trademark, or both; or in case ofprivate brand sales, with the name, trademark or both, of thecustomer for whom the unit was originally made. The markingshall be visible after installation.2.6 Labeling2.6.1 Compliance with standard. Each fixture shall bemarked at a location determined by the manufac

39、turer with thedesignation ANSI Z124.9 to signify compliance with thisstandard. This mark need not be permanent, but shall be visibleafter installation.2.6.2 Water consumption. Water fed urinals, both boxand product, shall be marked as required in ASME/ANSIA112.19.2M. The fixture label shall be inten

40、ded for removal bythe occupant only, and so state on the label. Waterless urinalsshall not be required to bear this label.2.6.3 Model numbers. Urinals shall be marked with modelnumbers.2.7 Joining methods. All urinal wells and trapways of joinedconstruction shall have joints that are permanently bon

41、ded byacceptable methods. Present acceptable bonding methodsinclude, but are not limited to: solvent cementing, heat fusion,ultrasonic, reactive adhesives, friction welding and inductionwelding.2.8 Waterless urinals: Waterless urinals shall comply with theperformance requirements of Sections 3, 4, 5

42、, 6.3.2 and 7.5.2.9 Accessibilty. Urinals designed to be accessible shall complywith the dimensional specifiations of ANSI/ICC A117.1.AMERICAN NATIONAL STANDARD Z124.9-20042Licensed to Sarah Zhou. 43、ibited.3. Workmanship and finish3.1 Unit preparation. The unit shall be installed according tomanufacturers installation instructions so as to simulateconditions of permanent installation, excluding fittings andpiping.3.2 Methods of inspection of the unit surface. The urinal shallbe examined for min

44、or blemishes with the eyes of the observer1 to 2 feet (.3 to .6 m) directly above the surface. The lightsources shall be partially diffused daylight, supplemented ifnecessary, with diffused artificial light, giving an illuminationintensity near the surface to be inspected at a minimum of 150 50 foot

45、-candles (1614 538 lx). Minor blemishes not observedin this procedure are assumed to be unseen surfaces.3.3 Surface characteristics3.3.1 Test method.1The unit shall be washed withstandard liquid detergent2and water solution, rinsed with clearwater and dried. The surface of the unit shall then be rub

46、bedwith a sponge and a 50% solution of tap water and watersoluble black or blueblack ink. The ink shall be rinsed from thesurface of the unit and dried before inspecting for defects orblemishes. When inspecting colored units, a contrasting coloredink shall be used.3.3.2 Performance requirement. The

47、units shall be freefrom cracks, chipped areas, blisters and large specks (largerthan 1/16 inch) (1.6 mm). See definitions under Table 1. Thenumber and size of molding irregularities and certain otherdefects and blemishes shall not exceed those given in Table 1.3.4 Subsurface porosity3.4.1 Test metho

48、d. Any finish surface suspected of havingsubsurface porosity shall be subjected to the standard dirt test.Two areas of the unit approximately 10 square inches (64.5cm2) each, shall be conditioned by rubbing these areas for 25cycles with 600 grit wet silicon carbide abrasive paper.3Onearea shall be l

49、ocated on the back slope of the flushing surfaceand one on the front of the exterior bowl. Following theabrasion, these areas shall be rinsed with tap water, dried andsoiled by the application of standard dirt.45 grams of standarddirt shall be applied to each area and the dirt rubbed withdampened chamois using heavy thumb pressure in a circularmotion for 25 cycles. The dirt shall be allowed to dry for 1hour. The areas shall then be washed by rubbing with a clean,dampened chamois and standard liquid detergent and watersolution, rinsed with clear water, and dried. (To hasten drying,s
