4、ECIAL NOTEThis American National Standard (ANS) is a national voluntary consensus standard developed under the auspices of ASHRAE.Consensus is defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI), of which ASHRAE is a member and which has approved thisstandard as an ANS, as “substantial agree
5、ment reached by directly and materially affected interest categories. This signifies the concurrenceof more than a simple majority, but not necessarily unanimity. Consensus requires that all views and objections be considered, and that aneffort be made toward their resolution.” Compliance with this
6、standard is voluntary until and unless a legal jurisdiction makes compliancemandatory through legislation.ASHRAE obtains consensus through participation of its national and international members, associated societies, and public review.ASHRAE Standards are prepared by a Project Committee appointed s

This revision of the stan-dard makes some significant changes to the 2007 edition.The major revisions and the rationale for them are summa-rized in the following pa
22、ragraphs.DefinitionsThe previous terms sensible coefficient of performance(SCOP) and adjusted sensible coefficient of performance(ASCOP) have been replaced with the new terms net sensiblecoefficient of performance (NSenCOP) and integrated sensi-ble coefficient of performance (iNSenCOP) to remove the
23、confusion caused by the use of the prior terms being used inother ASHRAE documents with different definitions. Somecommon industry terms used within the standard have beenadded as well.Rating Requirements1. The standard has been modified to cover four differentproduct application classifications. Th
24、is reflects theindustry need to modify equipment to accept higherand higher return temperatures, thus increasing effi-ciency.2. The chilled-water conditions have been adjusted on thechilled-water air handlers to emphasize the highersystem efficiency when higher temperatures are used,even though the
