C.). 3.1 Preproduction Sample.- The contractor shall furnish a complete threading =chine for preproduction inspection and test in accordance with 4.3. The sample may be a preproduction item or if the co

14、ntractor has a production item which mets the requirements of this specification, a sample may be taken from stock. In either case, the sample shall be identical with the proposed items and shall be made or shall have been made and assembled by the same methods that are to be used or were used in pr

15、oduction of item to fulfffl the terms of the contract. One preproduction sample shall be furnshed and the approved sample shall be used as the production standard, shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility to furnish equip- ment in emordance with the requirements of this specification.

18、S,ir) 3.2.1 Accuracy.- The machine and dies shall be capable of cutting threads conforming to the following. 23、 include guards for belts, pulleys, chains, gears, guide ways, sprockets, etc. All guards shall be of the removable or adjustable type to provide for access to the machine part. All electrical equipment shall be grounded to eliminate the possibility of electrical shock under norm1 operation. The 3.2

24、.6 Lubrication.- Ail bearings, revolving shafts and other rotating or sliding parts shall be provided with means for lubrication. Manually operated system for ways and remote areas shall have control handles mounted in an accessible location. U1 oil holes and grease fittings shall be accessible. 3.2

25、.7 Interchangeability.- All replaceable parts shall be constructed to definite standards, tolerances, and clearances in order that any such part of a particular manuficturers type or model may be replaced or adjusted without requiring modification. 3.3 or defects which may render the machine inopera

26、ble. The machine and its equipment shall be complete so that when installed and connected to the specified source of power it can be used for any operation for which it was designed. Construction.- Construction shall be free from any characteristics 3.3.1 hard spots, shrinkage defects, cracks or oth

27、er injurious defects. in no event shall such processes as welding, plugging or peening be used for reclaiming faulty or weak castings. Castings.- All castings shall be free from blow holes, porosity, 3.3.2 gelding.- The joining surfaces of all parts to be welded shall be thoroughly cleaned of all fo

28、reign matter such as dust, scale, paint and grease. Where harmful stresses may result from welding, the welded parts shall be annealed sufficiently to remove the stresses. All welds shall be cleaned of scale and oxidation products, and excess flux shall be chemically neutralized and renoved. shall p

(See 6.2). 3.3.6 Threads.- a11 threads shall be in accordance with National Bureau of Standards Handbook H28. 3.3.7 Electrical connections.- Electrical connections shall be in accordance with WEA Wiring St

33、andards. 3.4 Component parts.- The niachine shall. be composed of the components listed below. 3.4.1 Base or bed.- The base or bed shall be made of metal, either cast or fabricated, and shall be rigid and of sufficient strength to support the stresses developed in the application of its intended use

The motor shall have antifkiction bearings conforning to FF-B-l or FF-B-186 (See 6.2). The
