SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers the oxygen mask receiver assem- bly used to attach the MBU-5/
2、P oxygen mask to the protective helmet assembly for air crewmembers. 2. 9、orm a part of this specification to the extent specified herein. Unless otherwise indicated, the issue in effect on date of invitation for bids or request for proposal shall apply. 10、opies should be addressed to the American Society for Testing Materials, 1916 Race Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19103.) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Qualification. The receiver assembly furnished under this specification shall be products which have been subjected to and which have passed the qualifica
11、tion tests specified herein, and which have been listed on or approved for listing on the applicable Qualified Products List. 12、ons and standards for necessary commodities and services not speci- fied herein shall be selected in accordance with MIL-STD-143. 3.3 Materials. Materials shall conform to applicable specifi- cations and shall be as specified herein and on applicable drawings. Materials which are not covered by spec
13、ifications, or which are not specifically described herein, shall be of the best quality, of the lightest practicable weight, and suit- able for the purpose intended. 3.3.1 Metals. Metals shall be of the corrosion-resistant type or suitably treated to resist corrosion due to fuels, salt spray, or at
14、mospheric conditions likely to ,occur in storage or normal service. Metals shall be protected against such corro- sion in a manner that will in no way prevent compliance with the performance requirements of this specification. The use of any protective treatment that will crack, chip, or scale with
15、age or extremes of atmospheric conditions shall be avoided. 3.4 Design and construction. The oxygen mask receiver assem- bly shall be complete when the receiver jaw assembly is in posi- tion within the receiver housing and the-nameplate attached-to -the top of the housing with lock washers, MS35335-
16、58, and ma- chine screws, MS51957-28. Also, the backplate must be attached to the housing with lock washers, MS35335-58, and machine screws MS51957-26 and MS51957-28. The receiver assembly shall conform to AF Drawing 60C4459. 3.4.1 Nameplate. The nameplate shall be made of aluminum alloy, temper T4,
17、 0.020 inches thick, per Federal Specification QQ-250/4 and shall conform to AF Drawing 60B4466. 3.4.2 Backplate. The backplate shall be made of stainless steel, composition 301, 1/4 hard, per MIL-S-5059 and shall conform to AF Drawing 60B4465. 3.4.3 Receiver housing. The housing shall be made of al
18、u- minum alloy 380.0 per Federal Specification QQ-A-591 and shall conform to AF Drawing 60D4460 complete with helical coil in- serts per MS122118. The housing (prior to installing helical coil inserts) shall. be anodized per MIL-A-8625, type II, class 1. The exterior surface of the. housing shall be
19、 coated with zinc chromate primer per MIL-P-8585 after anodizing. 20、USAF) 3.4.4 Jaw assembly. The jaw assembly shall be assembled in accordance with AF Drawing 60C4461. The jaw assembly is com- posed of a top mounting plate, 60B4462, a bottom mounting plate, 60B4464, jaws, 60C4463, and rivets, 6284257. 3.4.4.1 Mounting plates. Both mounting plates shall be made of s
21、tainless steel, composi-tion 301, 1/4 hard per MIL-S-5059 and shall conform to AF Drawings 60B4462 and 60B4464. 3.4.4.2 Jaws. The jaws shall be made of copper infiltrated sintered carbon steel, class C per ASTM B303. 3.4.4.3 Rivets. The rivets shall be made of copper alloy, alloy number 260, temper
22、1/2 hard per QQ-W-321. The rivets shall conform to AF Drawing 6284257. 3.5 Performance. 3.5.1 Receiver assembly. The receiver assembly when fully prepare.d according to this specification shall pass the visual examinazion and the pull teset, specified. in paragxaph 4.5.1 and 4.5.2. 3,6 Interchangeab
23、ility. All parts having the same manufac- turers past number shall be functionally and dimensionally interchangeable. The drawing number requirements of MIL-STD-100 shall g-overn changes in the manufacturers part numbers. 3.7 Identification of product. The receiver assembly shall have the following
24、information impregnated or stamped on the nameplate surface in accordance with AF Drawing 60B4466. *Manufacturers Name or Code P/N 60C4459 *Contract No * Manufacturer shall include the applicable information. 3.8 Workmanship. The receiver assembly shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from i
